Alliance coliseum too much of a time sink…

So let’s say…you do one fight in each podium..and get 200k points. In each. That’s not too hard to get if you play ok, or use the tags to get easy points..60k tags, plus 60k prestige from alliance, plus say..2 bars downed..that’s 200k.

Ok..let’s say on a good average day…you get 2 bars downed per run..on average..sometimes more, sometimes less.

Need around 90xp? to get podium to lvl 2.
Need 300xp? To get podium to lvl 3.

For an alliance. If every one gets around 2.8 mill. That’s their share of the alliance quato for top alliance rewards. So let’s use 2.8 mill as the aim..

So to get enough, we’d need (let’s be generous because it’s not quite sufficient but good enough) we need 4 lvl 2 podiums and 1 lvl 3 podium.

So that 90xp x 5 = 450 xp.

Plus 300xp.

So 750xp.

Now let’s say in each run we do ok but not great…and get on average 2 bars per run on hard mode. That’s 20 xp a run. And each run takes 5 mins.

So we need to do a total of 37.5 runs. Call it 38.

We need to use 190 minutes of time…call it 3 hours..over the three days.

Now…that doesn’t seem a lot..but it..on top of everything else..

So during allliance coliseum we have to fit in an extra hour solid to grind it out..

On top of war, solo coliseum, side quest, music mode.. event quest..

It’s just too much..

I’d hazard a guess that most the players now, after 11 years are adults, with a busy work life, or family..

I wonder if kabam has lost touch with exactly what age they think their player base are at?

If we all started playing at let’s say..10 years old..then we’d be 21, in uni, work, family etc etc..most of us I’m sure started in early 20s..so now we are all 30+..

Suddenly finding an extra hour over those 3 days…is tough..and it’s a solid hour of grinding..3 days in a row..

The 3 day time limit is harsh..it forces you to play ….i mean..at least give us a week…half an hour a day, is more practical..

the extra grinding is harsh when placed on top of everything else..

And on top of that, you make it an alliance event. So people feel obliged to step up and do their fair share for the alliance…at least if it was a solo event, people could just skip it and it wouldn’t affect the other 29 people.

Our time is already stretched, and then you load us with a high reward event that has a 3 day “play me now or lose out” label on it, and then insist that the majority play for an hour a day extra, to get the rewards..

Just to add tips to your first points, about Podium XP..

You can earn that extra XP faster by not necessarily re-running with SAME champ as has top score on that Podium (because that probably, or should be, one that had full Tags).

But earning XP to Levelup those Podiums doesn’t care about Tags. Just use BEST champ (from those not currently sitting on any other podium) to clear as many Bars as possible (even if they don't match any tags). It's just about clearing Bars to gain XP (your base score for that Podium will get to stay high, you just want to run thru bars faster for XP).

And, yes, best to Level Up all your Podiums evenly (because of the highly escalating XP needed each time), instead of top-loading 1 particular Podium (*unless that one has such a higher skewed score vs others that it might actually make sense to level that one up several levels higher than others).

....and make sure you're leveling on a lower difficulty. It's much faster to farm bars and level your podium on medium than hard, for example.

But yes, the grindy leveling system ruins the mode and is a huge, not-fun time sink that's even worse when it's crammed into 3 days.

How much xp do you get on lower levels?

Easy = 1 XP /bar

Medium = 3 XP /bar

Hard = 10 XP /bar

Which (as far as my own unskilled runs go) seems roughly similar to how far I am able to get on each of the difficulties too. (ie, 2 bars in Hard, 7 bars in Medium, 20 bars in Easy).

So their XP scaling seems well planned out.

Medium seems like the best farming sweet spot for me. A nuke champ can burn through 8-10+ bars pretty fast. E.g., Vox or Venom for the Arcade boss. On easy, you get into the 5-lights / 3-medium timers quickly and the timers start to get too fast to deal with.

Just make it fun for all the 7 days like alliance raids, and new podium every two days. That will make it more bearable
