as the title says, do you as a bgs player feel you will enjoy these changes? and where do you usually finish?

So next season we get 40 champ decks, 5 bans, and rerolls every round.

Not sure exactly how this will help or hurt players, but for me, as someone with zero R5s but 30+ R4s, I think this will be good because it means I can ban more R5s with more flexibility.

I think for smaller accounts who have very few R4s, this will make it tougher I think.

All in all, I'm excited to see how this plays out because regardless of anything else, the mode was getting stale and predictable. This will make it more interesting if nothing else.

The bigger account will have the huge advantage in any match…. Which really isn’t that different honestly. If you burned resources getting a few more defenders highly ranked so they all wouldn’t be banned, welp, too bad for you.

seems like a change for upper echelon BG players beating each other up. VC to just getting into GC won’t change much.

I like the fact Kabam are trying something different. It’s too early to say if it’s a good change or not.

Hopefully it allows us to utilise some non meta champs that can’t fit into a deck of 30.

Horrible change. The discord (smart people) understand that this kills BGs for F2P. Even the whales in there are agreeing. Very excited to see the terrible player count next season. Maybe Kabam will finally abandon that garbage mode

They should give 5 bans anyway in the 30 deck size. Making the deck size 40 just means players with smaller roster lose out. They're limiting the game mode to spenders only

I’m looking forward to trying it out. I realize that people with smaller rosters might have a harder time but I’m hopeful it will increase the variety of champs we see.

Between bigger decks, more bans, and mid champ ascension, that does seem to be Kabam's goal (getting people to play and invest in broader swath of champs).

It's not an opinion. It's literally a fact that BGs is ruined with this change. In your own thread you already mentioned that you have 30+ rank 4s, obviously you wouldn't see anything wrong with it since it benefits you. Even the top BGs players are speaking out against the changes. The only people who don't see anything wrong with the change are whales. That tells me everything I need to know

The biggest complaint I saw from very skilled but F2P or modest spending players was that you just don't have enough bans to even the playing field against whales.

If you want to ban Dark Phoenix and Torch for example, and maybe a 7R4 Punisher, that means you can't have any other bans to suit your deck.

5 bans gives you more flexibility.

Don't forget that skilled F2Ps have 20+ R4s at this point. There is parity in the top 90% of decks, just not in the top 10%.

Expanding bans lets people chip away more at that top 10%.

Now if we're talking about Uru people with 10 or less R4s, then yes, I see how this is bad for them.

But does it matter what happens in Uru? Those F2P Uru people aren't spending or grinding or caring that much anyway.

I think everyone's being a bit dramatic.

The gap between R3 and R4 7* isn't that big, FTP can still have 40+ R3 and 15-20 R4 and if you don't then you aren't competing anywhere near the level where BG is going to be important.

The change is fine, they've added an extra ban I'm comparison, allows more tactical knowledge.

End of the day, everyone who is crying about not having enough R4 isn't going to match up against a full deck of R4 because you aren't good enough to compete at that level

do we get more time to be able to (1) scroll thru more choices to ban, and (2) to decide on and actually ban the couple extra champs ?

(*even more notable for those with devices that takes forever, and glitches, lags, when scrolling thru rosters typically)

and for those NOT using custom (dedicated) Mastery Slot for BG's, would adding an extra 10 champs have just those 10 champs get your CURRENT Mastery while the existing prior 30 champs maintain their FORMER Mastery at the time you added them to Deck previously ? (I assume not, else you could have had custom mastery for EACH Champ all along)
Or does all 40 get your Current Mastery applied to them in your deck now ? (most likely ?)

Extremely stupid change tbh, all we're gonna be seeing now is Nico Kushala Spiral Pav Shathra banned and then they just draft Dark Phoenix/Thanos/Serpent/Maestro/Heimdall and cook your ass. I don't understand why they just make changes like these without even asking the community or making polls or something cause most people would be completely against this change if they'd done that.

This change feels like a bandaid fix - treating the symptoms, but not the root of the problem. Marvel Future Fight does this well in their own PvP game mode - they enforce a ban list every “season” and sometimes they don’t have a ban list.

Kabam should do the same for Battlegrounds, but it’s not similar to the AW ban. AW ban is based off of Summoner bans. Battlegrounds ban list should be based off of Kabam. Kabam seeing a bit too much Serpent, Dark Phoenix, Deathless Thanos on defense? They’re banned for one season. Too many strong attackers for a period of time? They’re banned for one season

Not sure how you can be excited about this, you wanna be stuck fighting Dark Phoenix Serpent Thanos Heimdall Maestro without Nico Kushala Spiral Pav Shathra? Don't even get me started with the mutant class, bye bye Jack Maker Bastion Zola Nimrod and have fun fighting Domino and Britain. It's a stupid change overall regardless of how big your account is, they just made toxic bs defenders with unavoidable damage even stronger. You can't add more bans and increase deck size without increasing the number of rounds played and champ draft as well because of how defenders have been designed for the past year or two. I think this is absolutely going to backfire on Kabam

A deck with 40 champs is fine and the 5 bans also but to give 3 rerolls per match is stupid with 10 more champs to choose and just 2 bans more u have enough in my opinion no need for 3 rerolls per match 😅

No, Bgs were already a drag, with these changes every fight will take ages to finish. This was supposed to go faster, not making it 15-20 minutes long. Bad, bad decisions as always.

with 10 more champs (actually only 8 more after bans), less likely that your desired champs might appear in draft.

So 1 free reroll each selection in draft will help ensure you can get who you want. *although maybe ensures it TOO MUCH. maybe 1 free reroll TOTAL would have been better

Oh, and didn’t it say 1 reroll EACH draft selection, but there are 4 selections (2 - 2 - 2 - 1) ?? Or is it 3 total, but only 1 (of the free ones) each draft selection, so your “pick 1 out of 3” choice may not have any retools remaining ?? (or wasn’t I reading it completely)

I saw people in GC with Cull Obsidians and many non DoT applyng champs that didn't even have defensive value. This is going to make small roster player decks hilarious.
