"After some testing and compiling data we have decided the 40 champ deck was a success, we will leave the mode with the changes and change the summoner prestige calculations to top 40 champs and not top 30. Unless you're at least a Mysterium or Quantum player (or a dev), your opinion about this is irrelevant.

And truthfully, it should be only Celestial (or a dev), but I know that a lot of capable people don't have the time to grind BGs every season.

The following is a dramatization of the meeting taken during the planning of this new BG changes. Any similarities to real events are pure coincidence.

Person 1- Hey, we need to shake things up in BGs, I was thinking about increasing the number of champs in the deck to 35.

Person 2- Nah man, 45 from 30 to 45 makes more sense!

This change will make it worse for players without multiple R4s and above. I don’t have many and keep chasing resources for more R4s. Have already been matched with players with many R4s in Diamond and Vibramium in last BG and did not finish VT. Not looking forward to this new change where eventually I can only draft R3s and below.

My only request now is that no stellar forged piece is added in BG as prize which would make it very hard to attain

Every player, whether they have 0 R4s or 50 R4s, starts in Diamond. So of course you will meet a variety of rosters there.

If you didn't make it to GC before these changes, then I'm not really sure what your concern is to be honest. How can it get worse if you already couldn't compete?

Vega hasn't been competing in BGs for a long time now.

You should check out and/or wait for some of the serious BG players to give their takes.

Guys like KT, Nick136, and others, and what they've said so far is that this has potential and they need to test it out for a bit before seeing whether it's a good or bad change.

5 bans are fine, 40 deck size is eh, but 3 REROLLS?. It completely negates the 5 ban system

The reroll makes it even more luck based, you can take the risk and get something better or something worse. Make it more of a gamble than one 1 reroll. Not like bg is already a half gamble lol.

Edit : ok read all comments, and with 5 bans and 3 REROLLS, it is very easy to, let's say, ban all counters for cap britain (which usually are the onsie counters as well), and draft both and get a easy win. Or ban an entire class and draft serpent + dthanos, bullseye + yelena, zola + solvarch, and win easily. The 3 REROLLS only help for this. Pretty sure this is gonna be strategy for the next season. Don't know whether this is good thing or bad thing.

Overall I think it is a double-edged sword. On one hand those with bigger rosters gain a huge inherent advantage, but on the other hand, 5 bans gives ftp players more leeway with their bans as they don't have to waste all their bans on the BS pay-to-win champs now

Played exactly three matches where my opponent didn’t use the “ban all the attackers from a specific class and fingers crossed” strategy and they were potentially the most boring matchups I’ve ever had. It’s so hard to actually get outdrafted now unless they use the ban all mystics and draft cosmics strategy, every fight is basically a race barely any skill involved since most non cosmic defenders are basically vanilla fights. Sure some of it has to do with the nodes but even with harder nodes, certain defenders like Britain and Serpent are now meh because every player has so many chances to draft a hard counter the only way to really trap anyone is banning an entire class.

So, basically you either ban an entire class and cross your fingers or just straight up race the other person because there is no way you are outdrafting them if both accounts are the same size or close. Just terrible in general, please revert this change before season starts Kabam I implore you.

Does this not just boiled down to 1 thing. Forcing players to use more reroll.

With the dex size change to from the minimum 24 to 30. Less chance to getting the champions you want.

Also now smaller account will now be face a roster of 40 x R4 (and R5). Sure will encourage more participation.

This season just ended, got no one in Uru 4. Let see how next season go

What would be exciting is if you had a deck of 30, no re-rolls, and your opponent picks which champs you get to use.

A few things to consider:-

As this season just end show participation as a whole have drop significantly, on one was in Uru 4, but the top end was still scoring 800 point plus.

So taking view point of just the top end BG players would clearly distorted the perspective.

Also, KT made his video a little early, before the Post was updated again, so he didn't know that the reroll is NOT free.

Lagacy want changes to BG but didn't seem very positive about the 40 champs dex size either.

Sure we will find out once the season end, but based on what have been provided the educated guess would be.

Top end BG players will pay more for reroll

Lower end BG players will just get more discourage from playing BG

All the while Kabam make a few more pennies for selling Reroll while destroying another game mode.
