Protect 1 Champion” Option in Battlegrounds
With the current 40 deck and 5 ban system, players with smaller or less deep rosters are heavily punished. If someone only has a few top-tier champs, losing multiple key picks in the ban phase can make the match feel decided before drafting even begins.
My suggestion is simple:
Before bans, each player can choose 1 champion to protect.
That champion cannot be banned.
This would:
• Reduce frustration for mid-tier accounts
• Keep competitive integrity intact
• Add more strategy before the ban phase
• Not reduce the importance of bans
It guarantees at least one core champion stays in play without breaking balance.
