Are we getting new progression title with 9.4?

It's been just over 2 years since valiant title was introduced in Act 8.3 .

We always got a progression title in each act (except act 6 in which had 2 titles).

And since they teased the 9.4 release in april, i can't stop but wondering if they will add that new title, and what will be the rank up requirements. (maybe 1 R5 7* ?)

Any thoughts?

If they do it will likely be completion of 9.4 plus x rank 5 champs rather than just completion.

I think you are right and that a new progression title is coming soon. When rolling out the new prestige based rewards for EQ part of the justification for that was that there is a “large gap between new valiant and top players”, and I seem to recall mention of watching this space to see where progression goes next. Also I’m pretty sure (do check me if I’m wrong) that it came up in that pre banquet whale round table discussion which, whether you like it or not, has at least guided some of kabams decision making regarding that event.

I don’t think it will be for just 1 R5 though, and I would even go as so far to say that after the 9.4 release, it may ask for up to 3 R5 7*s. I think it is only fair that those who whaled out on banquet get the new progression title first (as it has been multiple times now since the paragon launch), with the rest of us being able to keep up after the release of Necro 2.0 or whatever’s next for Everest content. I don’t think this gap should be long (a month or two I would say is fair), but only needing one 7* R5 for a new title would go completely against the precedents set by both paragon and valiant (both of which requiring 3 top flight rank ups)

yeah, most likely, even act 9 100% rewards wont give enough resources to get the new title.

however when we got thronebreaker we needed only 1 6* at r3 (resources which were available from completing abyss of legends ) but maybe im living too much in the past lol

I’m guessing the new title will involve ascension not just rank 5.

The game has changed a lot over the past 2 years. We've seen a huge uptick in event offers and webstore track events. Progression titles have been there to push players to progress. We sort of already have that with the progression objectives (if you purchased it) that is set up for the long term. Factor in prestige-based rewards, ascension, soon-to-be collectives and its difficult to see what the purpose of a new progression-title would be.

I didn't mention BG's and how that forces players to rank up champs in order to compete. I could be wrong, but we'll see.

I would say yes. R5s are just starting to trickle in and a lot of people will get their first R5 this week. So I feel like Act 9 completion + x R5s will be the requirement, and Act 9 exploration will give resources for at least one R5 so everyone who does it can get started with their progress to the next title which will remain exclusive to the whales for a few more months

@MaxtheSilent I've been thinking about that too. I believe with such focus, besides delaying 8* I do believe it will be tied into the new progression whenever it shows.

What for? They are useless, everything is always setup for 2nd highest progression title and they end up giving it for free.

regarding the title name itself, I think it will have something to do with Carina.

since defeating the collector gave uncollected, and defeating grandmaster gave you thronebreaker.

this title should be the next big deal story-wise at least, Carina has been in the contest since act 6.

why?,.,they aren’t needed,.,the concept is tired and old and out of touch.

Not a very good idea when new players picking up the game see another progression title to reach when there is already 9 to clear before catching up and getting any decent rewards.

And i’m not referencing the veteran players that start an alt acct and get there in a month. I’m speaking of new inexperienced players that usually take much longer to gain ground.

I am sure there are some new players that have been the exception to that rule,.,but i am certain they are few and far between.

Considering a lot of rewards are now split between TB+ and Cav-, probably not necessary to add another title into the mix. If there is desire to split things among valiant level players, the prestige 30 ratings can be used.

With the direction the game is going on rn, I wouldn't be surprised if the new title is only available for spending players lol.

Prestige based titles, except the tittle is going to be based on top 50 champs and top 30 relics

we just have this disparity between a new valiant player and an old valiant player, and the glory/trophy/mysterium/radiance store are pretty outdated for older valiant players, so a new progression is kinda due imo, t4a is way too expensive right now and its an old resource..

if its prestige based, it will kinda suck because instead of ranking 2 champions, now you have to rank up 30 champions and sig them up, which with current in-game rewards is close to impossible.

There won't be new progression title bcos of reward budget

When you get progression based selector, valiant rewards are already so bad, what do you think Kabam is willing to give those with the new title

The exact same valiant rewards bcos these selectors aren't updated for years

So what's the point of Kabam creating a new title, it's meaningless

Even Kabam knows this so they avoid the rewards issue by not creating a new progression title
