Message to the Community / Kabam
As competitive players of Marvel Contest of Champions, the bare minimum we expect is consistency and fairness.
This week we have seen two significant errors: a promotional code that was improperly configured and widely claimed without consequences, and a bug in Battlegrounds that allowed players to obtain Gladiator’s Circuit rewards with a single win.
This is not about who happened to be online at the right moment or who simply used what the system allowed.
It is about competitive impact.
When errors like these end up benefiting a select group of players and the response ultimately amounts to justification or minimization, it sends a troubling message: that competitive integrity is secondary to convenience.
In a competitive environment, integrity matters.
Each season requires time, planning, resources, and effort. It is not fair for internal technical failures to disrupt that balance, only to be closed with a statement that effectively washes hands of the situation.
Mistakes can happen — that is understandable.
What should not become normal is the absence of clear measures to protect competitive fairness and the community’s trust.
If the game aspires to be truly competitive, it must uphold consistent standards.
Because when the perception of fairness erodes, what is lost is not just rewards — it is credibility.

I know you're the middle man, just the messenger between us and those who have actual power to make decisions, and you're controlled on messaging, so nothing personal. I do (as do others) appreciate the Sunday response.

But maybe you folks can take the entire dev team that is in charge of the dimensional dance dance revolution 3 mode that I'm sure is coming in the next few months and reassign them to the QA team. Or the BS poker team. Or the team that no longer has anything to do since the rebalancing program is gone (lol) and reassign them?

Stop acting like a garage shop biz, maybe? Hire competent people, and start with upper management. The consistency on bugs and issues has been steady for so long that it is clearly not an issue with the devs making the mistakes. At some point it becomes an issue with the management that can't course correct, and that line was crossed years ago.

Same. I thought it was like smth they would hide in a stream and someone sent it out for everyone. I had no clue it was some exclusive ccp giveaway code. I just copy pasted from a chat.

Game quality went down the crapper and its pure ****. Not only there is no fun content, anything they do, release or bring back is either bugged, broken, boring or all of the above.

Take away the banquet and it has been terrible for months, we got a PR apology and it continues to be 💩

This is why i didnt understand the banquet spending. The game has been on a downward trajectory for 2 years and yet people threw so much money at the game last December.

Kabam has shown how much they actually value the community with decisions like this one. First two months of 2026 have been one failure after another with only solo coliseum rewards (just the rewards, not the actual mode) and event quest update getting a thumbs up. The remainder has just been plaid bad and shortsighted.

Moral - dont spend money on the game and exploit every bug/glitch for maximum reward and minimum consequences. Also, be onlinr when new things release because there will be a bug/glitch to exploit

agreed. I’ve been spending on banquet every year. And I thought this one was good. Compared to last year. But I’m going to have to rethink my spending as these bugs and letting things go for some but not others has been happening too much

Kabam has not done enough for me to justify spending money on the game but nostalgia combined with how good this game's basic concept is, will make mr play casually.

Got Karnak with my first key and that means i have 2/5 chance to get Captain Britain or BWCV for free with a second key. Captain Britain was behind the pay to get options until now and BWCV is still one of my go to 6*s, would love the newly released 7*. Mr. Fantastic and Phoenix are no slouches either, totally worth it for characters who may not be available through other means for a few months.

Good for you? Not sure how that relates to being a poor sport because someone got something I didn't.

You have to pick and choose your battles, and it isn't always feasible to let everyone take advantage of a bug because some did. It's also not always prudent to make more work removing them. There's no such thing as ideal when it comes to unforseen issues, and to be honest, one of the most toxic traits this community has is many people can't just be happy for others.
