I'm surprised i haven't seen anyone jump all over this specific point: that one particular code was created without a limit, and that somehow that code "got out somehow." The potential optic of an employee creating a code outside of the boundaries of the assignment and then accidentally (?) sharing it with the wrong audience is not a good optic at all. A test code that somehow got out to production? A template code meant to be tweaked individually, then released? I'm running out of hoops to jump through to explain this.
As i understand it, and someone correct me if i am wrong:
Official content creators can give promo codes to users to get access to exclusive prizes. If this code didnt have a one time use as intended, then the player must have just posted a screenshot somewhere with the code and what they won. Ideally, if others try the code, it shouldnt work bjt in this case it did and then news spread over various platforms with people just posting the code.
The only mistake is therefore Kabam forgetting to make it one time use. I think they should just open it up again for one use per user. The box will expire eventually meaning anyone who sees it can use a second key. Once it expires, the code is useless, they can take it down then.
"Sheer volume of priorities " ⇒ perhaps that is the issue? You guys are trying to crank out so much content, that the quality of them has gone down the drain.
Just look at the dimensional arcade and poker event, Mike. If this was kabam miike he'd be at least trying to pass on the feedback instead of letting the "quantity over quality " continue to slide
makes totally sense…this has no priority but a person who didn't use it on time was?? lol this is such a joke and lame excuse.
The irony is that it would have taken them longer to correct and remove the code than do nothing and leave a message on the forum saying that they know about the bug and have left it intentionally open. They chose to correct it and now being asked to give compensation.
Hardly seems like a time issue...its counterproductive and wouldnt have been game breaking to leave it open
it's just wrong on so many levels and they always come up with lame excuses. it used to be all about " the fairness / integrity " of the game. now they are zigging and zagging and use what ever excuse they can think off to justify their mistakes. now it's all being swept under…there are so many issues so no priority to correct this lol atleast provide full transparency and tell how many persons actually got to use the faulty code.
Fairness… I remember fairness when Act 1 was introduced… A
Oh my god shut up
I pass along all feedback from the Community, as I always say I do.
Error 404 page not found
nobody isnt being happy for the people who got the key; the main issue is they arent being fair and giving those who didn't a chance at the key all the anger is towards kabam.
Holy **** you are absolutely right. How insanely ridiculous that they wrote those two things in the same message and saw no issue.
Reenabling the code a second time would be the perfect solution. The people who already claimed it wouldn't be able to again, and those who missed out would be made even with the others. Seriously, why WOULDN'T they do this other than wanting more people to not have exclusive champs they can gatekeep for over a year (OG she hulk from last year's box still not in the basic btw).
You guys messed up, make it fair even if it hurts your pockets a tiny bit in the long run.
put the fries in the bag brother. Keep farming those dislikes
I do not think I have ever agreed with GW before… so this is a first for me for sure….
I know it is a common trend but it still makes me sad when ppl complain bitterly about not being lucky. It is not as if anybody lost anything… just some people got lucky.
Be happy for them and move on.
Next time it might be you on the lucky end of the stick
What is happening to the game in general is a bigger topic and should be addressed but I feel this does not add any weight to that and only shows that ppl complain at every little thing.
I couldn't hear you over all the gargling
huge kabam L
then stop doing whatever it is that makes you gargle
Lol... Boy, you've been cooking of late. 😅
I'd wager both of those things are taking place.
Solutions aren't always ideal. Would it have been better to give one to everyone? Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure if you asked anyone, they'd love to have another one too. Would I argue it? No. I'd like to pull another. Unfortunately, that's taking a problem that was unintended and creating it into a much larger problem, for the sake of equal distribution. So, if they say they can't, I have two choices. I can either kick and scream and protest, or I can accept it and say congrats to the ones that got it. Either way the only effect it has on me is the stress I cause myself.
ok but if u don’t ask for something how are u supposed to get it if u see something unfair are u supposed to stay silent
this isn’t about luck, it’s about unequal opportunity. No one is mad if someone pulls a new 7* from a featured valiant. THATS luck. This is just giving some people an opportunity that others didn’t get because they were sleeping or working or literally anything else.
I'm not faulting people for asking. That's expected. What I'm saying is it's not always possible.
The bottom line is more people got access to it than they intended. Sometimes opening the flood gates isn't the best response when it means making things worse.
I'd be swimming upstream if I opposed people asking. My point is, it's better to accept the outcome when they respond than to stew on it. There's no great conspiracy. If it was an option, I'm sure they would have given everyone another one. They've done similar things in the past. The thing I believe people keep overlooking is these situations are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. There is no "always do this" solution.
It is mostly about luck.
There was no planned or set time for the release of the code. There was no official announcement. There is no time or channel in which you can monitor in case something like this happens.
The timing and occasion is random… so anybody who got it was lucky to be awake, in the right channel or checking the right forums when it was valid.
no matter how strongly you feel about the issues… luck has still a major factor in who got the code
Its not about us being bitter we didn’t get extra rewards, its about us being bitter that ANOTHER mistake is unfairly giving some players an advantage while basically teaching the rest of us that bug exploitation is ok. If you’ve ever played any other game, you’d know this isn’t normal
an L turned into a W. Thanks Mike
# ADDITIONAL VALENTINE'S DAY BOX KEY
Greetings Summoners,
Over the weekend, we extended the duration of our CCP Promo Codes for their Valentine's Day Giveaways -
During this process, one of the codes began circulating widely and was not limited to 1x redemption; this code was disabled when the error was discovered.
This resulted in a few thousand Summoners getting one additional Box Key on top of the free one from the Promo Code in the Webstore.
After speaking with the Team this morning, in the spirit of Valentine's Day and Love in the Battlerealm, we're working on something for all Summoners who did not get the extra Key from the Code before it was taken down on Saturday.
We're working on this now and will update you shortly!

Sometimes complaining does work.
Which is unfortunate because the community shouldn't have to rain hellfire for something so simple but here we are
Hi friends, I talked with the Team this morning and should have a solution here soon 🫶🏻 Screenshot of the announcement below:
