Good question… so many months and the only answer we get was „soon”
How much yall wanna bet only elder progression will be able to skip classic.
as much as it takes to get early ascension mats for new champs 😑
I went in, saw elder difficulty locked and I backed out.
I usually do the EQ within the first 2 to 3 days but I truly don't have the drive this time.
They also brought back swap nodes after every single person said they liked elder without swap nodes. At least they gave us Pixie though!!! Everyone loves Pixie!!!! Yay!!!!!!
And Elder EQ is back to one champion at a time format…. which doubly sucks.
At this point, it feels like a question of "how could you have originally coded this so poorly" if it is seriously taking 6 whole months to make it so that we can skip Classic and just start with Elder.
Swap nodes are back. Thanks Kabam. How dare we have fun playing this game?
Its like kabam said, wait, we dont like yall finished elder that quick.
They don't have the technology, they probably need another 30M banquet money to do so.
My guess is that it has to do with the fact that the Classic and Elder maps are not completely separate, but intertwined. You might or might not have noticed but progressing in the Elder maps actually changes the Classic maps. When you do an Elder path, if you go back and look at the corresponding Classic map it will look like you fully explored it. That's how Elder awards the Classic rewards on top of its own rewards: it is exploring those maps for you automatically, which earns you all the rewards you didn't gather on your first completion run.
I don't know exactly how that works under the hood, but I imagine that's the reason why the game can't just allow players to run Elder directly without doing any Classic paths. There's some explicit code in there that's expecting the Classic path completion as part of doing whatever it is doing to ensure players get all the rewards they are entitled to, but no more. You can't do Elder then go back and run Classic for more rewards, for example. And there's no way to exploit the system by trying to confuse it by doing more than one Classic path to try to earn all the milestones without doing the required Elder paths.
Even that seems not too difficult to untangle, but it does make the process more difficult and complicated than just allowing people to jump into Elder when there's all this other stuff going on in there. Maybe there's some other hurdle I'm unaware of, but that's what I'm assuming is causing the delay. Its more complicated than it seems, and that means it requires dedicated programmer and testing time, and that requires scheduling people who already have full schedules many months in advance.
They're working on fixing it.
