Is Jean a potato in offence now?

Did you notice that Jean got affected by the change in how protection and daunted works a lot more than Onslaught? Onslaught remained at almost his prime. But Jean… oh… Her SP2 now deals a lot less damage.

After doing some matches in new BG meta and some AW training I found it is a lot harder to play Jean in attack now. She is just not great and not nuky as she was. For example, one of the matches that worked before and doesn’t work now is Jean vs Photon. I used Jean as a decent Photon option, because she cannot miss with neuroshocks and her shield gives a good bonus against Photon hard-hitting the block. And her SP2 under many neuroshocks and Jean charges could nuke Photon or hit a huge bunch of her health. But now SP2 against Photon does so little damage, even Antman would hit harder.

Also, her targeted matches feel harder now, I mean Yelena or Punisher.

I had Jean as my R5 desired option, but I don’t really know now after realising she is average attacker now.

Yes in some cases. She was a great counter for herself but now I’m always running out of time in R4 vs R4 match ups. Previously these were 40 second fights.

Not winning may be down to not using her optimally but I haven’t changed my playstyle with her so something has changed.

I think it is not a time for rank down tickets. Jean suffered because Kabam "fixed" Hulkling and Valkyrie. They said they tuned up the damage of these champions to fullfill new damage rules and being the same as before.

I think now it is a time for similar justice for Jean. I don't think Jean now is a top mutant as she was before.

versus yelena and punisher, she is still hitting really hard. Against photon, maybe inequity is hindering her damage a lot. But yeah even I have noticed outside of these matches her damage feels low compared to before the hulking fix.

It’s just another example of why I have never and will never spend money trying to get a specific champ. Great one minute and suddenly it changes and you get stiffed in a match up you thought you were nailed on to win.

If platinum track was for the champ only I wouldn’t touch it. It’s only the other materials that make it worth doing.

she is silently nerfed i guess.. i also played her couple matches in BG against champs that she must nuke like Yelena & fury and the damage is lacking big time like it used to be

It is totally insane that on a day to day basis we are left guessing if a champion is working how they always have. At this point, how are we supposed to truly ever know that a champion is the exact same as they were yesterday without taking videos and logging specific damage numbers for every champion every week. How easy would it be to miss if Thano's damage was 15%, 10%, or even 5% smaller tomorrow because Kabam added some Fart Coin currency for the new side quest that somehow destroyed the code for how armor break calculates.

How many dozens of champions in this game have gotten tiny 5% or 10% damage reductions that have gone unnoticed from update to update? Since apparently Kabam can change how core calculations are made on a whim, and they clearly do not have a solid grasp on how these changes can effect champions (herc, valk, hulkling), who's to say how many champions are getting worse over the years.

I mean, this is truly insane and completely unacceptable.

A better BG player just timed out on my Jean, who isn’t even that big. Mine is Rank 4 and only Sig 40 and they used their Rank 4 Sig 200 Jean. They finished with perfect health too. Something definitely seems off.

In short fights I don't bother with the sp1. Just light attacks enders and sp2 spam until they dead

Agreed.

I believe CMM was also affected, or wasn't properly adjusted. I know she's not popular and isn't used often by the majority, so it will go unnoticed. She's a damage dealer with a 5 rating on the damage scale, but her damage while in Binary Ignition, isn't consistently scaling up where it should be for a rank 3 and higher 7*.

That's not a thing with 7*. I felt the same when using her 6* version initially after using the 5* a lot. I felt she was weak, and is the reason I still haven't ranked her up.
