Need help with gameplay

I need help to avoid getting hit in the face after a special fails. The AI with a split second of delay can block specials and once it blocks my special before I can even react i.e. block or dex back I get hit in the face 5 times or worse. There is absolutely no time to react, the AI is so fast. It is ridiculous that Kabam still haven't fixed this issue.
I need to know how to avoid getting hit after special fails. This issue has cost me several battles and a lot of revives. Can anyone please help?

Practice. I try to trigger the special fractionally before the final hit of my combo. Don’t wait for the combo to finish and then try to hit special.

I know that I need to hit special slightly before the combo ends, that is not the issue. I want to know, if the special is blocked and the AI instantly hits back, how do I avoid that damage? Is there a way or the rule is like if my special fails then I have to take combo in the face?

Not really, just start swiping back like a mad man or holding block and pray while the special is finishing.

You can’t really avoid the damage. Missing a special attack is usually a death sentence, don’t throw it unless you know it’s going to land.

The AI is ridiculously overtuned, and TBH I have no faith in Kabam to adjust it. It's been giving the Strikers hell. Even with perfect timing, the AI too often blocks or dex the Strikers.

With that being said, I normally use Specials that will distance my champ from the defender when it's over. Unless the first hit of the Sp attack is unblockable like CMM's (in Binary Ignition) and Serpents, I won't use it if my champ ends up close to the defender.

Sad because you have to use some specials to gain an ability, buffs, or apply extra debuffs. But these can be risky if the AI cheats or the game bugs or lags, and they land you close to the defender.

Sometimes the AI is too aggressive and fast. A couple of days ago, my 7 star R2 Dazzler died against Kingpin while she has full HP in daily quest. The AI gave me no chance to get up and dex attacks after being knocked down by an unblockable heavy. The AI kingpin just destroyed my Dazzler and there was nothing I could do - Combo, Unblockable, Special chain. It was unbelievable how fast the AI is sometimes. Still there are some people who would defend that there is nothing wrong with the AI.

Won't work unless that ai does nothing. If they attack straight away they'll hit u unless the animation has enough distance for the player to react

Not defending the AI, but his heavy is definitely avoidable. Yes, any heavy can catch you off guard from time to time, but you can dex out of the way and punish it to get back into good position. And to note, all heavies are unblockable (though have a chance to be resisted through masteries), so trying to stand there and block any heavy is going to have the same result.

One thing i am doing is to end 5-hit combos with light instead of medium before launching special. The other option is to keep heavy cancelling before launching a special.

I know this puts some champs at a disadvantage who have abilities that trigger with the second medium but have to work around it. Its the second medium before the special that fails and the AI blocks it.

Yes, the heavy is unblockable true, but I wasn't trying to block the heavy, I was trying to parry Kingpin and within a split second got downed by a heavy even before I could react. And then I was KO'd.

You tried to parry the heavy? Or you tried to parry and he threw an unexpected heavy? Heavy attacks catch everyone off guard at some point, learn from it and adjust. Eventually you will become more proficient at reacting. The more champs you learn the more familiar you become with their animations as well

in harder fights i try to be more patient. Most of the time if i get smacked with a special it because of impatience. I don't mind the A.i being to fast or aggressive. Tbh it personally makes me a better player. Can it be annoying getting clipped by specials, of course. Try not to make the same mistakes. easier said than done. But it can make you a better player in my opinion.

Nah man I am not dumb lol. I was trying to parry his light attacks. He got stunned, immediately recovered and pounded me with a heavy. It really caught me off-guard. Its not that it happens everytime, it was just one time that I got comboed to oblivion.

Kingpin has purify, so if you’re trying to parry stun he can and will recover instantly and keep hitting you.
