It is asking me to login with playgames whenever i open the game

Yes PLEASE let's bring attention to this. It's forcing me to log in with Google Play but that's not the account I use.

While this may be a bigger issue, the last month in Apple I have always been getting the message area for “LOG INTO YOUR GAMECENTER” or such.

Doesn’t interfere, other than being onscreen when I would want to screencap the new month's opening couple new Splash screens. But hadn’t been as obvious as that previously to last month for me. (And, I always have that GameCenter turned OFF in whatever places I can find that throughout Apple settings, and never used it for this game).

Not sure if this is related, but I cannot log out. I use Google play games to login but the option to log out is gone since the update
