Please fix dust storage

Anyone who rushed to get elder is probably dealing with the same issue I am:

I have 1200 dust in overflow, and I haven’t even touched monthly EQ.

I’ve had 9 base pool cluster drops, 3 of which were dupes - Patriot, Peni, and Adam Warlock.

Meanwhile, thanks to the randomness of token distribution, I have 7 mystic and 8 tech tokens, but 16 science. In other words, even if I get “lucky” and get a second (well, third) Peni, I can’t ascend her either.

It’s unreasonable to expect someone to delay reaching elder just to manage their overflow dust, but the randomness of these cluster drops doesn’t give us a guaranteed opportunity to use it.

@Karatemike415 @KabamDORK wouldn’t a 4000 cap make sense at this point?

yeah, I think you’re onto something here. I’ve got 59 ascended 6 stars and apparently I’m doing 6-8 more to get under the cap this month. It feels bad to be an elder player but feel like you’re in a similar position to one of those level 37 players who can’t use the right catalysts. That’s especially true when getting champs 3x for a2 is completely RNG driven.

I ascend lizard... I was not even gonna touch his tokens and was planning to let them rot in inventory....

Then there came 1700 overflowing dust.

After lizard,it went down to only 1200 overflowing. wOw

the issue here feels very similar to the caps on glory trade in for essentia. It might be fine over the infinite horizon but they’ve created an artificial (and significant) short term problem.

with collectives now a thing I just ascended some six stars that either aren’t available as seven stars or that I don’t have yet. But the cap on storage needs to be increased. Especially if you are elder. I am now having issues with high end cats in overflow too…..

even if the expiration period matched the 30 days we get for catalysts, at least the we could carry it past the collective launch.

the cap seemed so high when it launched then they blasted us with the dust cannon. But being able to a2 a champ is entirely RNG unless you’re on 13+ super duper boxes.

same got over 1k t2 dust in stash and 3k what can hold on top of that but cant use on 7* atm. So stupid

You have enough dust for 5 A2 rank ups, even without the overflow.

1/36 odds for any single ascension pull. Now you want that 3x, the same probability of rolling doubles 6s (3 times in a row).

Sure some people will get triples, like any RNG but I sure won't worry about dust expiring cause I won't be needing it anytime soon. (Still need about 50K super duper shards before I dupe one of those).

Maybe when we get to needing 1K-2K dust per level 4/5 ascensions they'll consider a cap raise.

You're going to earn more Dust in the future. So just Ascend some 6*s, or let it expire. 7*s aren’t the only use for it, and Elder doesn't mean they're the only Rarity that exists.

It seems like they tuned the dust and class tokens for how many A2 champions they expect an average player to have for a given engagement level, but have not accounted well enough for the RNG in the regular or greater empowered crystals. Either way the amount of dust does not seem to match their stated intent of roughly 1.5 A1s per month, which also doesn't account for getting enough same champion A1s to get an A2 to use dust. As others have said, there are not enough crystals available in content to pull enough champs 3 times to use the dust for A2. The 2k dust that many people have in overflow is 4 A2s, which is 12 A1s of 4 of the SAME champions, not including all the other ones that you'll inevitably get. That's 1920 empowered crystals, assuming you only got the same 4 champions the correct amount of times using the grace system. BTW i don't think more crystals is the solution, I already have more ISO than rank up materials to use with because we now don't need ISO for the new "rarity" of champions. Never before have we had more "rank up" materials (dust, class tokens) than champions we can actually rank up even if we wanted to. The only A2s I have are Maestro and Lizard because I was explicitly awarded enough of those specific champ tokens to do so. AndrewTheRuff hit on all of this weeks ago in his goodbye video, the amount of RNG built into ascension is crazy. Never before have we had to essentially get a champion to sig 40 (traditional rank up vs ascension comparison) before we can rank them up. My first 7R5 was unawakened, it didn't prevent me from ranking him up, I only had to get him once. There is no choice for rank ups in the new rarity unless you buy enough of them, even for the base pool or super duper box. It's a completely separate discussion that for the first time, all newly released champions are not available to everyone in the new rarity from something like the titan or featured crystal (5/6 stars), earned by duping champions of the previous rarity.
