Battlegrounds stellar forge chase
I wanted to give feedback regarding the current Battlegrounds season because the overall design feels far less skill-based than previous metas.
Right now, the season heavily favors accounts with the largest and deepest rosters rather than rewarding player skill, drafting strategy, or matchup knowledge. I understand that not every account is supposed to earn the smaller Forge Blade piece, and exclusive rewards are fine. The issue is how the system currently achieves that goal.
The current setup feels toxic because it creates an environment where “best deck wins” almost every match regardless of player decision-making. Smaller or developing accounts feel locked out before the match even starts. Battlegrounds used to feel like a mode where strong play, smart bans, and good counter selection could overcome roster differences. This season shifts too far toward pure roster advantage.
This was most likely intended to revitalize Battlegrounds, but I believe it will have the opposite effect. Personally, after this season, I have no desire to continue playing Battlegrounds at all. The overwhelming feedback I’ve heard from other players has been extremely negative as well. From the people I’ve spoken with, most feel this season has effectively killed the mode rather than improved it.
A competitive mode should reward skill first and roster depth second. At the moment, the balance feels reversed. Many players enjoy challenging metas, but this season makes progression feel frustrating instead of competitive.
I hope the team considers adjustments in future seasons to better balance roster strength with actual gameplay skill so Battlegrounds remains fun and competitive for all account sizes.
