There is no doubt that BG grinding has become very frustrating for everyone. It's very time consuming and simple progression takes hours of grinding based on match ups. A bad match up and you lose your hard earned progress if you don't spend units to buy victory shields. A lot of times for this reason most people have opted out of BG.
But this season adding the Blade piece made everyone come back to it. And the meta along with the already frustrating BG mechanism is making most MCOC users hate the game out of utter frustration. People have left the game over the years due to this kind of grinding frustration. People have also come back to the game when Kabam realised this kind of situation and fixed with new game modes or contents that ensures quality of life.
At this point I can only request Kabam to give away this Blade piece to everyone. They have given away at least one piece for quite a few of the champs earlier.
For BG, maybe remove the penalty for loss so that as long as you win you progress and not get punished for losing or a mistake in game or a bad match up.
I myself is still struggling far behind from Vibranium 1. I know it is same for a lot of us. Sure few of us have already progressed but for majority it is a frustrating grinding.
What are we doing if not having fun gambling here and there. Gambling is the true nature of the game. Lol.
And Thank you for stats, as we know, The house never loses.
I never said it was endgame prestige, I said it make gladiators circuit so frustratingly attainable but so so so difficult to get. As for your point on SF champs are geared towards endgame players - yes of course they are, but as I and many others have pointed out, getting GC does not at all match up to the difficulty of the other pieces - if the character is endgame, make it properly endgame, not 4 super easy pieces making people think they have a chance if they just get through the slog of bgs. This is not even me personally, I have only started playing the game again after a long hiatus for 5 months, so my roster is highly underdevelopped. Im not expecting to get the rewards for free on a silver platter, but make it match up at the very least, and on top of that why put the piece in the season when they are experimenting, with overwhelmingly negative feedback? Why just this once take it out of BGs, because as they have said themselves, this is not a normal BGs season. Why is the chase item in a experiment?? I agree it is going to be a tough ride, and I don't mind getting through it myself, I stil have 16 days left of the season and I'm about to be in Vibranium. I might or might not get the piece, but its possible, even tho I only have 24k prestige and am very underlevelled, due to a decent level of skill in the game, and a willingness to grind. My points are just about the difficulty of newer/returning ftp players, and the silliness of this season, and the inconsistency in the difficulty/skill/roster requirements to get the pieces.
I have gone through what you are going through. Even when I tried I couldn't hit GC to get Dguilly and Dvision pieces. I ranked up my roster by focussing all my energy on permanent content. I had to buy those 2 from radiance. But then I managed both vision and dshulk by reaching gc.
Every chase champ had 1 piece in BG. So theres that.
You are doing pretty great. You are 100% gonna get it.
The meta really isn't that bad. Bite the bullet, pick up a few victory shields to use when you're 2 medals away from the next tier. It saves a ton of time. It would cost less to spend on shields than the 2500 to pick up the last piece.
The game is free to play, but not free to win/earn. Thankfully, there's resources other than cash to get you there (i.e. units, time, revives, and a variety of other in-game currency). Not everything in this game needs to be watered down. It takes the fun out of playing.
I'd gladly pay 2500 worthless virtual currency (f2p) to never play this shame of a failed experiment game mode. Give everyone 2500 units and put this season in the bin.
Watching the language on this thread, lets keep it civil.
Many players will use budget of units to buy piece and defer others sales and offers or game progression. And be very unhappy.
Guys, I found the grind in BG really frustrating as I was in Diamond1 few days ago. But I stuck to it, pushed through and spent around 600 units in Victory Sheilds. And now, I reached GC and got the coveted blade piece.
Yes, it's possible to reach GC. Need to have patience and need to be willing to spend units to protect the wins every now and then to save time. It depends on matchups. And you need to try again. Brings the question of quality of life.
But we also need to understand that Kabam needs money to run and keep the game alive. If we all want to be F2P and never wanna spend, the game won't survive. We as a community need to understand that and find a middle ground. I do think that does still exists for this game.
I think for BGs, Kabam can make it less frustrating by removing loss penalties. Maybe let the victory shields get double progress for each win. By not spending on shields the progress is half and slow. But take out the progress lost mechanism for losing. Just brainstorming here so that BGs become less frustrating for everyone.
Finally made it to GC without spending a single unit on Victory shields, what an absolute pain and I'm never doing that again, but at least its done now. Playing against full r4/5 decks with r2s and 3s is horrid
I think this is the first time I've missed the 200pts radiance milestone and I'm not too mad about it. It's so demoralizing that I'm playing just for 48hr objectives at this point.
If the mode was deleted tomorrow I wouldn't care.
