Is nightcrawler better awoken or not?

With his arena coming up I need to figure out if I should awaken my four star NC or not. I hear a lot of talk about how he is better defensively if not awoken and better offensively if he is. However, with so many good offensive mutants does anyone ever use him as an attacker for questing? Is he still an elite defender?

    Both statements can be true:

    NC is better defensively when not duped, and better offensively when duped.

    There are better mutants for attack.

    Leave him unawoken
    There's no harm in leaving him unawakened and on defence until you pull him from a crystal, he isn't the worst defender when awakened either, just slightly better when awakened. As for offence, there's better champs.

    NC is a nightmare defender. Awakening him weakens his value as a defender.
