New forums, new Character Wishlist thread

Just as a reminder, our rules:

Character requests are still a very frequent topic of conversation within our community, and with good reason - there are a ton of amazing Marvel characters in their universe.

The old Character wish list thread was ballooning a bit, and several characters requested in that thread have since been added to The Contest. We're starting up a new thread to house these discussions so that they can continue, but in a more up to date manner.

A few FAQ's:

1) Why haven't you added (X character) yet?!

A: there are so many characters we want to add, but simply haven't gotten to yet. A character's lack of presence in the Contest currently does not necessarily mean that we've overlooked them or that we don't already have them on our radar. Our teams have a finite amount of time in order to produce content, and we'd love to bang characters out quicker - but still need to maintain realistic developer cadences.

2) We need more female characters and more diversity.

A: Our own team is quite diverse itself, and we agree that representation is an important concern!

3) Why do you bother adding (X re-skinned character) when you've not even had a chance to add (x character not in The Contest)?

A: While some people are not a fan of character re-skins, MANY of our players are. The Marvel universe is one with a lengthy lore, and almost every beloved character has gone through some sort of costume change or shift at some point in their super-powered careers. These differences offer a good opportunity to re-introduce players to content they may not have managed to obtain the first time around, and allowing new players to pick up a certain champion while still keeping things a bit fresh. Our goal is to have a healthy balance between release types.

4) Can you confirm if a requested character is going to be released?

A: The short answer is no. We have specific timelines regarding when we can announce content, and that means that we can't pop in to say 'hey, that person is coming!'. For those wanting to keep on top of our latest announcements or teases, following our Twitter and Facebook accounts are your best shot. We also have an Instagram account that you should follow. So go forth, and suggest! We're not going to individually reply to the comments and suggestions that we see, but we are reading everything.

This should go without saying, but please discuss the characters you'd like to see without insulting each other or trying to discredit someone's opinion. Friendly debate is welcome, but the emphasis here is 'friendly' ; )

I would love, no new champions... Can't we just take some time out to update and revamp some of the older neglected champions like Black Panther (Original), Iron Fist, Colossus, Deadpool (X-Force), Captain Marvel (Original and Kamala Khan), Carnage, Iron Man (Original, Superior and Patriot), Hulk Buster, Ant-Man, Juggernaut, Groot and the list goes on.
It never actually occurred to me until yesterday when I received Black Panther as my 32nd 5-star champion and his L1 and L2 specials were described as Strikes multiple times. Each hit has an additional X Critical Rating.
What the hell does Strikes multiple times signify? What good does that do against newer champions that are overly utilized with all types of crazy abilities.

Skills
Hunting the target:
When you hit your opponent, Lockjaw gains fury and accuracy every 10 hits.

Rest
When holding the lock for 5 seconds,
Lockjaw rests, recovering 5% of life by wasting energy or gaining 50% of 1 energy bar, activated randomly.

Sniff :
During the battle, Lockjaw notices the movements of the adversary, sniffing the battlefield,
gaining a 15% chance of dodge or armor. Randomize

Special moves

Lick
Lockjaw licks and soaks the opponent, disrupting their movement and causing 20% reduction of power and attack by 10% for 7 seconds.

Bite:
Break the armor and cause bleeding for 4 seconds. In robots, it causes collisions in circuits with shock damage for 4 seconds.

Teleportation:
3 power bars:
Lockjaw teleports the opponent to the top and knocks him down.
Go back to the battlefield to eat while watching the fall. Generating concussion and armor collapse on opponent for 8 seconds (also breaking passive armor)

Class: Cosmic

Synergies:
Friends: Groot, Rocket- increased critical rating
Teammates: Stark Enhanced Spider-Man- Increased Evade Chance. Nova- Start Battle with 3 Nova charges Luke Cage- Quicker invincibility recharge
Friends: Star Lord, Gamora, Drax: increased fury

Abilities:
Evergy Absorbing: Each energy attack grants a 50% chance to gain a Nova charge
Each Nova charge increases energy damage and energy resistance. Max: 10 charges.
Fury: 10% chance when blocking an attack to gain a fury charge granting extra attack power
Signature Ability:
Super Nova: When Nova gains 10 Nova charges he begins to gain power 5% per second until max power.

Special attacks:
Special 1: Energy Shot
2 energy blasts
Adds 2 Nova charges

Special 2: Rocket blast
1 energy blast followed by a head on attack
Adds 3 Nova Charges

Special 3 Human Rocket
1 Super Nova blast (building up energy for a radiation blast. Then a boosted rocket attack

Toxin (Patrick Mulligan)

Born from Carnage as the 1000th symbiote in its lineage, "Toxin" was feared to be the strongest and most dangerous of their race by both Carnage and Venom. Venom wanted to take advantage of the offspring as a partner, but Carnage planned on killing Toxin, however was too weak to finish him off at the moment of its birth. The symbiote united with former police officer Pat Mulligan, who is struggling to improve his life and living with his wife who is expecting their first child and was forced to leave her for their safety. After fighting off Venom and Toxin with help of Spider-Man, the duo were able to live another day and fight the good fight with helpful advice from Spider-Man on being a hero.

Class: Because of Patrick's background as a former policeman, but Toxin's race and lineage, Toxin can be either skill or cosmic.

Unique Abilities

Passive: Patrick and Toxin can switch roles on who is in control by dashing back and blocking for 2 seconds.

■ The Ex-Cop: When Patrick is in control, he makes use of his experience as a cop and adjusts to the fight the longer it goes on. Anytime the opponent executes a special attack, he learns from their movements. If the special attack connects while he blocks, he gains physical resistance by 10% every time. If he manages to evade the special attack, he decreases their ability accuracy by 10% every time. If he gets hit by the special attack, he increases his offensive accuracy by 15% every time.

■ The Son of Carnage: When Toxin is in control, he has a X% chance to inflict Bleed on his opponents with each critical strike he delivers, dealing X% of his attack as direct damage over X seconds. If Toxin inflicts a stack of 7 bleed damage debuffs, he achieves a power gain for X seconds

■ Toxin may be young and immature, but he is smart and Patrick is experienced. They work together and use their ability to shape-shift and copy certain buffs that a champion applies to themselves such as fury, regeneration, armor, cruelty, and precision.When a champion applies the following buffs on themselves, Toxin places one on himself as a permanent passive effect for as long as the opponent's buff is active. Toxin can stack different buffs, but the previous buffs are converted from permanent passive into temporary buffs and he will slowly forget the last buffs he copied until they expire in order to focus on the newest and current buff being a permanent passive. If the opponent's most recent buff expires, Toxin will keep the buff as a permanent passive unless he is hit 5 consecutive times, which results in losing the buff.

Awakened Ability - Unleash the Monster: When Toxin is below 65% health, he loses his temper and goes into a berserk state on his opponents for X seconds. Toxin gains an 85% chance of his claws to cause bleeding damage. Toxin gains a stack of passive fury and cruelty buffs for every 5 consecutive hits he delivers. When Toxin loses his temper, his size and strength alters. He grows and shape-shifts from Carnage's medium size to Venom's extra large size for intimidation and places an intimidation debuff on the opponent, reducing his opponent's ability accuracy and increasing his own offensive ability accuracy by X% for as long as he is in his berserk state. As Toxin cools down, his size changes back to normal and his passive buffs convert to temporary buffs until they expire. Toxin can go berserk one last time if his health goes below 35%.

Other status effects:

■ We Work Together: When Toxin is in control, he focuses on keeping Patrick alive because he is not sure he is capable of surviving without a host. With every debuff applied that damages over time, Toxin has a 65% chance to purge it and regenerate X% of health lost during the debuff. (Similar to Limbo by Magik)

■ When Patrick is in control, he uses Toxin's durability and symbiotic nature to his advantage, gaining tenacity and a fixed X% chance to shrug off any debuff on him and in return increases his chance of being granted a prowess buff by X%, which increases special attack damage by 200% for 10 seconds

Special Attacks

Special 1 - Redemption at Hand

Patrick knows how Toxin gets sometimes, which means he takes responsibility and has to take action himself.
▸ Toxin pounces at the opponent with two large leaps, slashing his claws each time he leaps at them and finishing them off with a good onslaught of 4 tendrils from his back with a combo of 3 hits. (Toxin can leap all the way to his opponent from various distances with his pounces. Similar to Killmonger's special 2 or Sabretooth's special 1.)
■ This attack automatically gives Patrick control and increases his tenacity by +15% and reduces enemy evasion chance by X%
■ Toxin gets curious and studies his opponent as they move and attack, giving an X% chance for Toxin to evade attacks.

Special 2 - Playtime!

Patrick lets Toxin have some playtime as long as he doesn't commit any crimes!
▸ Toxin applies a three hit combo with his fists before finishing the job with a 9 hit combo with tendrils flailing from his chest
■ This attack automatically gives Toxin control while also causing an open wound debuff that lasts the rest of the fight if hit by the tendrils 9 times. An open wound counts as a stack of bleed but is passive and deals no damage This attack consumes up to 2 buffs on the opponent while applying a cruelty, precision, or regeneration buff to himself. If opponent is bleed immune, instead of open wound, it applies a permanent armor break that has a max of 3 stacks.
■ Toxin can get out of hand to the point he doesn't know his own strength and goes over the top, giving him a X% chance of breaking through an auto-block at the risk of tiring himself out. A fatigue and exhaustion debuff is placed on him for X seconds only if successfully breaking through auto-block.

Special 3 - I am not a monster!

Toxin does not like when Patrick calls him names, this makes him very angry!
▸ Toxin refuses to attack the enemy to get back at Patrick for calling him a monster, but when the opponent attacks him, Toxin gets angry and goes sadistic, pouncing at his opponent and knocking them down on the ground with a hard shoulder bash before increasing his muscle mass and sharpens his claws and teeth before delivering a series of claw slashes and a head bash before finishing them off with a large bite and slings them to the wall with his teeth.
■ Toxin goes into his immediate berserk state and increases his normal size to his grandfather Venom's size for X seconds
■ If his ability is awakened, he will remain in his massive size and maintain the intimidation debuff on his opponents for the rest of the fight while also keeping his sharpened claws and teeth to increase the chance of inflicting bleed damage on the opponent with a fixed X% chance of causing an open wound. Toxin can give control back to Patrick but only by using his special 1. Once he seizes control to Patrick, he loses his intimidation debuff on the opponent and returns to his normal size and his sharpened claws and teeth, losing his chances of inflicting bleed damage to the opponent.

Nobody, anywhere, wants to see Netflix IF. Would his specials include people recoiling from him saying "I am the immortal Iron Fist" all the time? Would his special be Colleen saving his ass? The others would be cool. Add Killgrave if you add JJ, though.

SIGNATURE: Maarvel of the Universe- As the creator of the Marvel characters, Stan Lee has extensive insight on every champion and can shift the odds in the contest to create an interesting storyline....(chance to gain 1 random buff every 5 hits on combo meter and 1 rebuff on the foe every 5 hits received. The effect duration is based on power meter. This can create unique buffs and debuffs).

PASSIVE- Regeneration below 80, 60, 40, and 20% health.
-Power Gain when below 90, 70, 50, and 30% health.
-Fury above 50% health
-Armor Up below 50% health
CLASS MASTER- at the start of every fight, Stan Lee is granted 1 random class for the fights duration. The chance to choose a class with an advantage increases the more health Stan Lee has.

ALL ATTACKS- When the combo meter is below 20, it cannot be reset.

BLOCKING- additional energy resistance and physical resistance based on foes last special attack used.

ALL SPECIALS- Each time a special attack is used, Stan Lee takes 5% recoil to place up to 5 buffs or debuffs. These are random at times but can stack.

Sp1- Pow! BOOM! CRASH!!! - Stan lee writes up a powerful energy surge followed by multiple attacks from popular heroes.

Sp2- Mwuhahaha!!!- paying homage to the famous villains of Marvel, stan lee unleashes dangerous onslaughts of power.

Sp3- Excelsior!- The King of Cameos? What? He's in this game??? Yes, yes he is.
