Alliance war problems

Hey..last night i started an alliance war and by the time i went to sleep we had over 10 000 points..bt when i got up in the morning we had around 9 000 points? Even tho a few guys had advanced forward and we had doubled our defender kills! How is it possible to lose points during a war..never heard of it and iv been playing over 2 years..is this a bug..

    You gain points from defenders remaining so if they get taken down so do your points
