I have seen so many discriminative decisions made by kabam over these 3 years. But this one tops all of them...
BTW, I am an end game player, I have couple of worthy 5* r4-r5 and 6* and also 4,5k units at my disposal. But I was on a business trip and decided to wait for weekend to complete. If I knew this was going to happen, I would rearrange my schedule, probably take day off and definitely go for those gems.

You should review this decision. Cause you're simply giving some players a full labyrinth of legends rewards(both completion & %100 exploration), and giving the rest of players nothing but rank up tickets for some dusty champs.
@GroundedWisdom how is it “equally unfair” to derank champs that were illegitimately ranked up? It was explicitly stated that they were for 2015 champs only. Ranking them down and allowing the players to use them on appropriate and intended champs is the opposite of unfair. They weren’t supposed to be able to do it, so now they can’t. Not unfair. Did you benefit from the exploit?
I agree not the fault of pluaers who finished it early and were surprised to find that gen worked on all champs ..
But it still should be reversed ... Knowingly or unknowingly someone cannot be given advantage over others in the game .. whatever tier they are in ... That's the definition of the word "fair"...

When Kabam changed the gem back to how it was to intended they made a huge mistake. Why do they continue to make these poorly thought out decisions that affect every end game player in the battle realm? Once again I’m not surprised that Kabam is doing this and screwing over ample amount of summoners. Just annoyed now that I didn’t 100% chapter 1 before they changed the rewards.
Echoing others thoughts... this is a poor decision and should be reversed. This encourages players to abuse bugs they find ASAP and goes against Kabam precedent.

GET OVER IT. They get resources much faster than you, so those rank-ups were inevitable.

Kabam stated the reason for the 2015 champ restriction was to make rosters more diverse and engage in future content that will require a wider range of champs. By allowing player to retain rank ups on more coveted champs, it does the direct opposite of the intent of the crystal. It also creates a disadvantage to those that now have to face rosters with much large depth in AW which would have been achieved without the exploit.
I think rather than reversing their rank-ups they should just change the gems to normal 3-4 gems... That way those who finished fast won't feel cheated nor those who waited.

Everyone knew they were supposed to get 2015 rank up gems. Everyone. If anyone finished early to rank up new champs with bugged 2015 rank up gems, they knowingly cheated.

I finished fast, didn't use it on champs I could have....because, that's "cheating" and I wasn't feeling like being banned over ranking up rogue or x23.
Give it to everyone or no one. Plain and simple. Only players with strong rosters would be able to finish the quest so the solution is to let them stack their roster even more? Kabam is really wearing me down over the years... don't know how much nonsense I will continue to deal with
THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!!! The option kabam chose to “fix this” by allowing some to use on top tier new champs while the rest of the community get stuck with junk is not on the list of viable options. Kabam you’ve stated and shown in the past that you won’t allow players to exploit a bug, yet here you are doing just that leaving others worse off for waiting.

I do however found a response which linked to a vid from dorky dave, which in his credit is really clear about this matter (thank you for that dorky dave, I resubscribed).
Now since this matter will not be resolved by Kabam in a way we all feel it should be, let’s just agree that we will no longer spend any money on this game untill they do. That includes not spending a dime on a black friday sale deal as well.........hurt them where they feel it, their wallet.

They just gave a popular YouTuber a couple thousand more subscribers instantly last week by mailing every player a link to one of his strategy videos and he’s already posted a video condemning this nonsense.
Makes you wonder why others youtubers haven’t done the same.
Have to keep pushing this. So contradicting to their previous stances on exploits. Ridiculous @Kabam Miike. This has to be rectified. Or change the rewards to apply to all champs going forward.
The point of merging threads in these cases is not to keep things organized. It's to contain the conversation in a thread that's so long and has so many replies, others won't want to view it.
Not allowing a thread to bump is another control technique often used on this forum.
These things usually happen when kabam has their heels dug in. Anyone can see that the decision to allow some players to exploit a bug is a bad one.
I'll quote some past comments from the forum boss that are relevant and should have been used in this situation.
"we have been made aware of an active bug that had the potential to be exploited in a manner that allows players to receive rewards they have not earned"
"this was not a situation that we could allow to continue and have addressed it as quickly as possible in order to ensure that nobody could gain an advantage in the game and tip the balance thru use of this exploit"
The rest is details about the fix and how they would take back resources, champs, shards, etc etc etc. Bans were also dealt out. I thought that the reaction was over the top to that particular bug/exploit and would not want to see the same heavy-handed smack down occur with the current bug/exploit.
Nevertheless, consistency is called for. It's blatantly obvious that exploiting this particular bug has enormous ramifications. The difference between a 2015 champ and current meta champs is night and day. The fact that only a few players were able to exploit this bug only makes the CORRECT decision and CORRECT fix all the easier to execute. Anything else is a direct slap in the face to every other player.
Those quotes above relate directly to what has happened with the current bug/exploit. There's no wiggle room at all.
This should have been an easy call, a slam dunk. Fix it, correct the rosters that exploited the bug, move on. The wrongheadedness of the stated decision is mind-blowing. The inability to think thru these situations is mind-blowing. I can't begin to understand how such a straightforward situation could be handled so poorly, especially when there is precedent for these types of things all over the forum. Even baby Groot pushed the right button in the end and he was just a twig. I'm smh.
