Man it seems like everytime I decide to try to finish act 4, or try to become uncollected I end up ranking up a good champ and it eats up all my gold so I spend the week grinding out in arena just to get back to a decent amount of gold and it's so frustrating cause it feels like the gold problem is holding me back from progressing in the game.

Sitting at 71m now from 68m 2-3 weeks back.
R4ed my 5* Vision, R5 my 4* Heimdall and Nebula, R3 my 5* Venom in this period too.
Uhm sorry if I misunderstand but exploring doesn’t cost gold just energy, so what is the beef?

No, actually. Many people have Gold. It's simple Economics. If you're spending more than you're making, and not saving it, then you'll run out. Gold is like in-game money. It takes work to earn and it takes effort to maintain a balance. Personally, I Rank at a pace. I keep a minimum balance and don't go below it. I don't go for broke. I'm always Ranking something. Just not 5*s from R1 to R4 in one sitting. I could, but that would lower my reserve. Lately, I don't go below 6 Mil much. It used to be 2 Mil was my prudent reserve. Now it's 5 Mil. All it takes is holding off on spending until you get ahead some, and keeping a minimum balance.
Hey u never know they run a halls of 6* shards 3 or 4 times a year just like halls of fortune and halls of healing, oh wait not they don't THEY NEVER HAVE!!! See unlike u I'm asking for something they actually done before

I’m not “undermining” you just to do so. I just look at it differently. I think this shortage of resources adds to the strategy of the game. I enjoy that it is difficult to rank up champs. I need to evaluate the content I want to complete carefully, and rank up accordingly.
If I could just rank up everyone I would get bored very quickly I feel.
I haven’t opened all my gold crystals since the last time there was a 25% boost to those crystals.

I rank all my 4* to R3 and 5*s to max R1 at least for arena grind and level up points.
I spend my T1A and T4B R2/3ing my 5*s to get arena done faster.
Even my alt that doesn’t do arena, has 8m gold and gradually increasing as I ration the rank ups to champs that will help my roster.
So gold problem? Nah. Self-control issue? Most probably.
