Controls are really messed up

Starting today, my controls are not working, my champions are dashing in and dropping block randomly and getting me killed in quests. Only seen this in story quests, don't know about AQ/AW. It was in 5.3.6, first fight(ronan) has no problems, but from king groot onwards, it's a happening a lot. I tried restarting my phone but no change. Anyone else have control issues?

    I simply cannot block at the beginning of the fight, even if I hold it down during the run up, I am immediately hit.

    iOS 12, no background apps. iPad Air 2.

    This started a few weeks ago out of nowhere and I've seen nothing about it and support is useless.
