Should name changes be free?

I've been stuck with a **** name for years since I started when I was a little kid, RainbowNarwhal0, I would love to change it but the name change is pretty expensive if you don't grind or use money, so what is your guy's opinion, free or not free?

If they make it free, then people will just screw over an alliance, change their IGN and screw over another alliance. Once in 3 months is a decent period and putting a cost to it makes sense to deter some people from doing it.

It always used to be free.
You could just message support and they'd change it for you.
It's a cash grab/deterrent from when all the big alliances changing their names to IIIIIIIIIII
