Dormy does not need to be Dup'd to be a good attacker. Ending a combo with Medium sucks some power away from opponent, and then SP2 later does even better power control.

Start him out with a Parry-Heavy to build up Detonation charges, then a bunch of MLLM or MLM, sprinkle in SP2 later, and also another Heavy when at full detonation to deal big damage. Note, Dormy's regular attack is not that powerful, but because of other aspects is good to have.
