    As a point of reference, back when most MMOs were subscription-based, the typical cost per month to play the game was on the order of $15-$20/month. That equates to $180 - $240 per year. I don't think anyone would consider that level of expenditure remotely noteworthy back then: it is interesting to me that someone willing to spend $100-$250 a year on a game like MCOC is often seen as spending ludicrous amounts of money.

    I'm not sure that's a reasonable characterization, but as far as I'm aware he's a former dentist who now makes money consulting as a sleep disorder specialist. And apparently making extremely good money doing it. As to his professional proficiency, I have no informed opinion on that.

    Not that I'm judging by any stretch of the imagination, since my view is respecting whatever people choose to do with their money, but it kind of trips me out to think some people have spent enough for a house on this game. Lol.

    In reality, rich ppl like the title which is not directly linked to how much money they spent (but actually it is linked) like those honorary doctorate/fellowship for non-academic person.
    I doubt if those COWs in this game really need a title for how much they spent, although I'm truly thankful for their monetary contribution to the game.
