Depends on the match-up. In most cases, start the fight, bait out an enemy special as soon as possible and keep their power below 1 bar. This way you'll stay in Telepath form, stack as many Prowess stacks as you can and use an SP2 for insane damage. Rinse and repeat.
In case you're fighting someone like Human Torch, Electro or Abomination, where you're at a risk of getting fun and interactive damage on you, try to keep the enemy's power between SP2 and SP3 and keep throwing your SP1s as soon as you get them. This way you'll always be in diamond form and you'll take NO fun and interactive damage.
I also try to start a fight by Parrying and Heavy Attacking a few times. Usually after a couple, I'm near a full bar of Power while my opponent isn't. On the next Parry, I'll start doing normal combos to push me over a bar before my opponent, which'll put me in Telepath Form and let me start building up more Prowess as I build up to a SP2.
I also use this pattern against Evade Champs as well so that I can get into Telepath Form faster and ignore their Evasion. Focusing on Heavy Attacks also gives them fewer chances to trigger an Evade than a normal combo.

Follow up with combo when near SP2 to get up to 10 prowess then fire it. Damage is good and can be higher with synergies.
As mentioned above watch the opponent's power bar and bait.
