Simple search would show all the various reasons why that is not a good idea. Abuse, theft, fraud, money laundering, etc (multiple accounts, hacking accounts, etc)... (no matter how it is implemented).

One of the various reasons they stopped Gifting was Stolen Credit Cards or Apple/Google Play cards, used to fund game purchases, and then exchanged as Gifta in game for real money in return (at a discounted rate)
