How good is Dr Voodoo?

I have Voodoo at rank 3 duped, I’m 2 paths away from 100% Variant 1 and if I get a Mystic 4>5 gem I’m jw if Voodoo is worth rank 5 or should I hold for someone else like Symboite Supreme or Magik?

I have both duped ss and dv. But personally im more enjoy playing dv instead ss. I think you should try both on them first, and choose based your playstyle

Voodoo’s signature ability is still top 10 in the game, possibly still top 5. 50% offensive + defensive ability accuracy reduction, massive spirit poison damage, and 2 types of power control. Voodoo manages more AQ paths than most other champions including Map 7, his 30%+ regeneration at the start of each fight saves tons of items. If you think SS is worth awakening over Voodoo for anything other than prestige, you don’t know how to use Voodoo to his full potential.

DV has been my #1 for most of the few years I’ve been playing. Past UC I still use just not as much till I dupe him as a 5*. Then it’s auto r4.

DV is my main man, He has solo'd most quests for me. His Sig is incredible to build up the poison.

Definitely play around with him.

On an opponent without buffs, SymSup has to do a lot of work to be effective. Not so with Voodoo—he can still power burn/power control and regenerate in the absence of buffs as well as manage opponents’ AAR.

On buffed opponents, both have tremendous uses, although I find having to wait around for SymSup to gain power isn’t the most enjoyable play style.

Dr voodoo. He's a beast. I'm always at 100% even at day5 aq thanks to my Sig 160 5*r5 voodoo. Absolute monster. Can do much more than ss. Sym supreme is really bad against champs that can't be bled/masochism node. Voodoo can do variety of things including power burn/AAR/power drain/regen. Tons of utility

I do have a duped voodoo at r3, honestly tbh I dont use him much, aside for once in a while in aq, I guess it's because I have better heavy hitters, about to take my next r4 and right now my mind is set to venom unduped>oml if buffed like
shown in beta > km duped> voodoo.

I have a 4 55 voodoo at sig 60 and he puts in loads of work. Not sure if I will rank 5 him, in case I pull magik or ss, but I'd like to think that if I did rank 5 him then I'd have no regrets.

I feel like a lot of people glance over the fact that brother Daniel not only increases buff (green) and debuff (red) duration, it also either doubles your ability accuracy (try me, domino) or halves the enemies (evasion champs) [Also i always forget that red Daniel gets you able to stun for much longer, so you can get a full 5 hit combo on evasion champs from a parry.
TLDR
AA- and AA+ have a gigantic number of benefits that will be relevant in terms of game progressing until all content gets a global node that negates AA+ and AA-

I clearly underestimated DV. I thought he was a good champ but from what I am reading he clearly has an edge.

I originally voted for SS, thinking he was the new bread of champion, with new mecanics.

I just wonder if DV is more usefull in AW and AQ and montlhy events, where the fights happens more oftens and are shorter.

And if SS, with his new mecanics, is more of a boss killer where the health pool of the adversary is very high and the fights are longer.

Anyone can clarify this?

I’m a bit biased towards Voodoo because he was the first featured champ I ever went for back when he was released and I was able to rank him up immediately and awaken him. He’s always been incredible and amazing. Maybe on paper it doesn’t seem like he can do a whole lot. You see AAR and don’t really register or process everything he can affect. This can be anything from evade, to auto block, to regen, to limbo, to Dorm’s sig, to even nodes. There have even been a few times I was in war and had the -50% ability accuracy reduction on the opponent and they tried to parry me a couple times due to bad timing and I didn’t get stunned. It can prevent unstoppable including aspect of war (I think it still works) and the list really goes on. Sym Supreme was my first R5 mystic and when I got a R4 -> R5 mystic gem from one of the variants I was more than excited to rank Voodoo and have him be one of my top champs again. I like him far better than Sym Supreme because he’s not as limited with his fights. He’s not burdened by slow power gains or lack of buffs (he can create his own buffs). He’s sustainable with his regen and energy resist while blocking and even if he does come across a “bad matchup” (poison immunity) DV can just L2 and power burn for some extra damage instead. He’s a Swiss Army knife but does things far better than average. He does need his sig, but he doesn’t even need a high sig. I just awakened mine without having any sigs to be able to put into him because they all went to Sym Supreme for prestige. Higher sig helps but not required. I’m

Voodoo is one of the best champs in the game when he awakened. You do need to play him right. He has answer almost to every node in the game.

INSANE REGEN every fight (20% healing every fight)
Good prestige

Even combo:

100% accuracy ability
Poison on sp1
Power burn BUFF (works on debuff immune nodes) on sp2

Odd combo:

50% accuracy ability reduction (less evage, prevent unstopable and many more)
50% change to apply poison, powerdrain
Increase debuffs by 125% at max sig, you can parry and do like 10 hit combo
