Luke cage’s exhaustion not working properly in variant 3: Polar opposites

Furthermore spite is operating boosted to 54% of a bar yes however each stack exhaustion reduces the base value, 4.5% of the original 18%. Weird how that again takes 12 stacks due to the math. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I did, you didn’t account for DS’s passive power gain boosted to 300% by the 200% power gain effects node, you need 12 stacks to shut it down. Don’t know why you insist on being wrong about both the node and LC.

clearly you didn't. I find it amusing how you are arguing a point and can't even read the node properly or the mechanics in play.

Let me spell it out( take note of bold characters)

The node says increase POWER RECEIVED from power gain effects by 200%

this is not increase the power gain effectiveness by 200% but the actual amount of power the defender gets.
so in the spite example the amount of power gained would become 54% of a bar of power which the defender receives 100% of that power.

Luke cage's ability which again you obviously can't read says

The opponents POWER GAIN EFFECTS are reduced by 25% per stack.

I'm pretty sure that all nodes currently in the game increase the power gained and not its effectiveness. Even if that isn't the case in this situation the effectiveness of DS passive power gain and Spites power gain is at 100%, which means 4 stacks would reduce that to 0 which means no power is gained from that effect, which means 200% incraese to that power should result in 0 power.

Your second response is exactly what i said was most likely happening in how the calculation is being done in that its calculating the 18% then the 36% but only applying the exhaustion to the 18% which is wrong.

As long as you agree exhaustion is operating on base values that’s all you need to be wrong in your snark. Toodles

I am going by what the node says and by LC mechanics.
The node doesn't say it increases the power gain effect percentage which is what you are all arguing is going on. It increases the power your receive from the effect.

Am i wrong in what this node is describing ? No

Is it working as described ? No

Is the OP entitled to assume this is a bug ? Yes

By your arguments if you take a domino in against say a Hyperion with this node, he should never not proc his power gain because -15% reduction on + 200% would still leave a +185% right

Domino procs critical failure multiple times on this node but Hyperion has 100+100 -15 =185 right.

Like i said the reason its probably not working as its suggested is due to how it is programmed to be calculated.
which like other nodes is usually

power gained = (18% - (100% reduction) + (18% * 200%)

instead of being

power gained = (18% * 300%) - (100% reduction)

If Hyperions power gain effect has been increased by 100% so its now 100+100%
why is -15% reduction still applying when his power gain effect should be at 185% by your logic

Somewhere along the lines LC’s exhaustion debuff description was changed to what it states today which is not what exhaustion does. This is responsible for the difference in understanding of function and effect.
