Blade, Starky, She-Hulk, Venom, Capt IW are my base team for most paths. Venom is great on the 5.4 rage paths because his sp1 removes the furies. But like was said, it really depends on the path you are taking.
I just try (not complete,) fight 5.3.1 with quake and you now, every time she parry she got 1% health damage so i start to doubt her. Perhaps high damage or regen champ will be more suitable for long fight?

Venom the Duck absolutely Massacred 80% of Chapter 3 and 4 for me... (Also had Venom for the Synergy and 18% Finisher) The rest were swapped out for Utility and such when needed.
Depending on which path you are taking but I did rotate with these guys:
5/65 Blade (80% of the content done by him) 5/50 Starky 5/50 GR 5/50 Iceman (biohazard/Caltrops) 4/55 Hyperion 6* 1/25 Gulk 5/50 LC (Caltrops, biohazard) 6* 1/25 MS (Biohazard/caltrops and that War Machine, Groot, King Groot etc) 4/55 Magik (against Power gain/Cable) 4/55 SS (Hype, any champ with buffs) 4/55 ST (with KM for Maso) 5/50 KM 3/45 Domino
Top 3 were 5/50 Ægon duped 3/45 Void duped 4/55 Sparky duped
In no particular order. I used Ægon a lot for easy fights and Void for specialty fights (a lot of the bosses, including Meph and Ultron) I used Sparky over Ægon deeper into 5.4
A 4* 5/50 Venom did most of the paths to elders bane. MVP amongst 5* 4/55 champs that where the rest of my team. Also on 5.4.6 ultron quest a 5* 3/45 VTD did the exploration without items used. But overall Venom can solo more than 80% of act5 exploration.
4/55 IMIW and voodoo. Lots of voodoo. My favorite was when Kabam thought they’d get cute and give war machine ‘empty the clip’ at the beginning of the fight. Fight might’ve taken 10 seconds.

Dr. Voodoo also was in the mix.
When I ran OR, I had my squad set out around his synergies, so Sabretooth, Void, Red Skull and then I'd add Hype to that line up or DV.
When I used Blade, I'd use the trinity with some other guys chucked in.
