Why is that Kabam adopt the "rich get richer" approach?

I felt like this boss rush should have been aimed at mid range kind of players to help get an extra 5*.

Yet they choose to only make the quest beatable by the elites basically. Then they get a second 5* because of the mistake with placing the quest in dailies.

Damn, didn't expect this to have a load of replies when i woke up today.

I see a few people in here saying they beat it with 3*'s. Please post your videos, because i would very much like proof on that one.

Even KT1 used a lot of revives for his 3* team so it’s not easy with even one of most skilled player out there.

Using his own term, 3* is impractical for this quest and it’s not fun too.

With that roster I wouldn't consider you mid tier yet but if you grind arena for units you can probably do it with a few revives... I'd rank up your sym Supreme for domino and keep stacking the nullifies and launch a sp3 when you are in the third phase and hopefully bleed her to death (I used my 4 star void to reverse her heal)... For sym Supreme it should be easy with that Stark spidey... Start with a heavy to drain some power then once you get up to 1.5 to 1.75 bars of power launch a sp1 and then keep stun locking with sp1 (I used luke cage to stun lock)... The other fights aren't too bad domino is going to be hardest for you

I would say this is geared to people with the skill level around that of those who are able to become Uncollected and above, with a good roster consisting of several 4/40s and above. I wouldn't know if that's mid-tier or not cause the people on these forums aren't representative to the true skill ranks of people in game.

If you can't beat it; or at least the first boss, then you're not at that stage of the game or you're missing a couple of counters.

King Groot and quake could definitely be beaten by a 3* starlord so could sym supreme with a 3* sparky granted they would all be long fights
Invisible woman would be quite difficult due to her forcefield preventing any solid regen
Taskmaster with a champ who can cheese Icarus wouldn’t be too bad

Uncollected is actually a pretty good place to rate mid tier players at. You don't have to have rank 4 or higher 5*s to be uncollected. You don't even need rank 5 5*s. Many have become uncollected with rank 4 champs 4*. The reason uncollected is a good bar for mid game players is pretty simple I think. If you are doing act 5 you are forced to deal with special 3 attacks. Nowhere in the lower story mode do you face this. You are also dealing with nodes like bane and buffet which forces you to learn to deal with longer paced fights and fun interactive damage and regen. You have to not only learn to bait to do act 5 but also look at sustainability in a fight. I would go even further to place mid range as people who have done 5.3 were you need to deal with nodes that limit all but a certain class in damage output. Yes you have to deal with special 3 in arena but that is only 1 fight. You aren't trying to sustain a team through multiple fights. Arena is a place to learn baiting and be able to mess up with no real repercussions. I don't see too many mid game players in aw higher tiers for the same reason. You need to sustain a team through multiple fights. Even if players who are not yet through act 4 were given a team of their choice in rank 5 5*s most would still be using pots and revives because the fights don't leave a lot of room for screwups where you eat full combos or block damage. Rather than complaining because it is too difficult use the boss rush to get better. That's what end game players had to do to get where they are. Practice and see how far you can get. I have seen players buy retired end game accounts and fail to keep up on higher prestige alliances because just having big champs doesn't mean you can steamroll through content. I have run this with rank 3 4*s myself. It can be done but 1 mistake and you are out. Domino is a perfect example of this in the boss rush. If you dont understand how lucky and unlucky affect your champs abilities (there is a thread about void not placing debuffs or fear of the void on her and aa getting no bleeds) you wont pass her regardless of the champs you use.

What do you have for a mastery setup. Those champs would be rough in the boss rush but could do it. No way you do it for no resources unless you play perfectly but its possible if you have an optional mastery setup and are willing to use pots. You would be looking at a long set of fights and 100% intercept since chip damage will wipe out your health pool

I think there are roughly 6 tiers of players in MCOC:

1. beginners (lower caste craving to get their 4s to 5/50 - masteries bare)
2. working class (proven, maybe a few 5s due to the extra shards and events this year but no one past 3/45)
3. middle class (uncollected, or almost there, several 5s no higher than 3/45, maybe one 4/55 or so)
4. upper middle class (in act 6 or barely cavalier, several 4/55 maybe 1 or 2 5/65s)
5. upper class (cavaliers, several R5s, looking to get an 6* r2)
6. elite (been there, done everything, have everyone)

I think based on completing it (twice

) the boss rush was for anyone at level 3 who was closer to level 4 (with the right roster, pots units) and up. I got one 5/65 and 5 4/55 and several 3/45 and 5/50s. I'd put myself in level 4.

I do know that it's possible with 3 stars, but that fight doesn't count. That was good on 1 fight because of CAIW's heal reversal.

What do you mean that fight doesnt count? I did that fight to show someone in another thread it could be done. I didnt do the whole quest with 3*s bc I didnt personally have to. All the fights can be done with 3*s and a lot of skill and/or some revives though

Not for nothing but this particular quest promotes the "practice makes perfect" mentality...it's only 1 energy & can be done w/the right counters. I get it that it's frustrating & you're most likely venting but post like this is asking for the usual Git Gud replies.

If you cant manage to parry and just attack to create space when you get backed up, you have no business in a quest like this to begin with yet

I tried the same fight with 3* sym and its definitely doable but I only got her down about halfway before I got a long unlucky and ended up getting caught blocking an sp1. If your roster isn't developed to a point where you dont have to use 3*s for quests like this, expecting to be able to do it itemless is quite unrealistic. Even at that, if you had to revive once per fight that's 6 revives which most players would have in their stash regardless. 10k 5* shards is easily worth a few revives to someone with a weak roster

I'm going to have to disagree. Anyone could miss a Parry or Dex. Suggestions are fine, but when you go in with lower Rarities that depend on never getting hit, that's not a reasonable way to gauge that it's a cake walk, and it's not reasonable to say if people can't play as perfectly as that, they have no business being there.

Its absolutely reasonable. All these threads are complaining about the tuning or design of the quest. Those things are obviously not an issue if the quest can be completed with 3 and 4* champs. The issue is the skill level of a subset of the player base. Cant blame the content creators or devs for that one.

Every opponent in the quest barring IW has been in the game for at least around a year if not much longer. People have had ample time to learn to fight these champs by this point

It doesn't necessarily not count I guess. Bad choice of words. I'm just saying that if you have a heal reversal champ, that fight takes as much skill as a fight in Act 4. The whole quest can be done with 3 stars and skill as I said, but that fight is the only one that a counter will make easy. The rest have hard nodes, big PI and good defenders. Even with the best counter, with a 3 star, that would have to be a very long fight with extremely little to no mistakes. I personally don't have the skill to complete the whole thing in one run. I lost 2 champs on the first fight, but the second one, I took 0 damage cause I have a duped Void. I can't get past Quake though.

You know it's one thing to think everyone is at your level. It's another to expect them to be. People are complaining based on where they're at, with their own level of experience. The only ones who decide who content is targeted for is Kabam. This was a mid-upper Boss Rush. Not particularly for End-Game alone. I don't know why it bothers people so much if others had a hard time with it, but they can say that if they did. They're not speaking from where you're at.
