How can I remove someone’s champs from a BG; right now everyone’s defense automatically stays placed for all future wars?

We run (1) bg in AW and I have members who place their defence but doesn’t play. How can I clear members out of AW to make room for others. Right now, when you place your defence it automatically keeps it for every future war?
