It does seems to be needlessly convoluted. The way it apparently works is: 1. We get daily special objectives to earn keycards. 2. We can use these keycards in a 2* restricted side quest to earn inte…19 -

It might even be nice if they went the exact opposite route and included some v4esque paths gated for lower rarity champs. But I do rather expect it to be rarity gated similar to act 6.5 -
