I am on Android and got a gift today. But I should note that they have sent out gifts like this before and in my 3+ years of playing I have never received one before today.

Occasionally our team will send out different gifts to different players. Today some players did not receive a gift, but they may receive on in the future. We do understand your concerns about this and we have passed these along to the team.
