It actually happened to me as well (against Nimrod as well), grabbed a screenshot of it that I included with the video. I also don't have issues that often so same boat, noteworthy to report. Thanks for passing it along!

To get the twitch drop reward yes. Its a system integrated into Twitch itself that we've partnered to setup with MCOC

If you connect your Kabam ID to your twitch account you'll get free rewards in-game just for watching the twitch stream as long as you're signed in
