Suicide Masteries with double immune champions

Moderate player - standard masteries setup currently. I hate using units on revives and I just completed Act 4.

I have been saving my units for a sweet deal but now I’m thinking about using them on suicide masteries and using double immune Champions to fully complete Act 4 and initially complete Act 5.

I have 4/40 Iceman, Ultron, and Nebula. I could top that off with a 4/30 Corvus (I know he’s not technically double immune), and 3 Star Duped Iceman.

Am I crazy or is this a savvy way to clear content more quickly? Let me know your thoughts - especially if you run suicide masteries.

If you are very confident in your skills not to make too many mistakes it's a fine decision but I would not recommend suicides questing content like act 5. Maybe they'll be good for 5.3 but for everything else it just isn't worth the risk. There are a lot of fights on each path and you'll be using a lot of specials so even if you play well your champions will just be chipped away to death.

I used to think this was a thing. Until I tested it. Suicides are useless for anything but arena.

I’m the end you can’t use sp1 or 2 so your damage bonus is negated by being forced to use sp3 or no special at all. (In content that matters).

Try it yourself if you think I’m full of it.
Use SL for ROL WS without suicides using sp2
Then use him with using only sp3

While it’s not a perfect test it’ll give you some insight. I’ve done this test in LoL as well. I prefer the multiple hit specials (1&2) that can each get 50k per hit. Without suffering recoil.

Suicides..... they’re useless for the “real” player.

not act5 he is asking to get the act4 done

He just completed act 4 and literally says he's thinking about act 5 completion and act 4 exploration

For suicide mastery , reduce damage by max using site Marvel Synergy or search for best mastery set up , go for opening all mastery at once gives better results

I use omega red 5 star r5 with full suicides. Trust me, with the right champs, they aren't worthless.

So, that’s what I’m saying. I think some commenters don’t understand - I’m just opening one on Recoil. The idea is to max out Double Edge and Liquid Courage with double immune champions. Then my only downside (at least in threory) is 5% off for each special I use - if I actually need them.

Has anyone done this with double immune champions (or champions like Omega Red that are quasi-double immune)? What were your results?

I disagree. I'd say running suicides is more champion-specific than anything....Magik......Corvus Glaive......Omega Red...

... To say that Suicide masteries are useless outside of arena is simply untrue.

Nice summary and good argument. There are a couple of other champions i can think of with a 'resistance' that - with Willpower - turns one or more of the Suicide masteries on their heads:

Beast and OML will heal up from Double Edge

Karnak will heal up from Liquid Courage

Ghost and Wasp have totally reliable mechanisms to shrug off one or other of these effects.

Rogue reduces debuff duration for Double Edge; Kingpin and Agent Venom can shrug them off.

I don't use them myself; but can see the benefits with the right team.

I run full suicides but I am just a casual free-to-play player, my alliance is on AW tier 9-11 and I don't intend on doing any LOL run. However, I 100% 5.1 and 5.4 and am close on 100% 5.3. I am not that skilled, so I spent some units on the process.

I don't know if the 60% attack increase helped me not to spend more units or if recoil/SP3 use only made me spend more units. I think using double immune champions is the best option to run suicides, but are you really going for act 5 with only those champions? I mean, a 3* Iceman? I think you will regret it.

Also, note that suicides paired with some opponents will give you some pain: Void will start to inflict damage straight away because you start the fight with debuffs (unless you use a double immune, of course); Carnage will get power gain and unstoppable specials if your champion is bleeding; Archangel will most likely proc neurotoxin immediatelly if you get hit. Pretty sure I am forgeting someone.

Second, there are some paths on act 5, especially on 5.3 and 5.4 that heal block straight from the start. Very painfully. I took advantage of that offer some weeks ago to change masteries without cost, dropped suicides, completed those paths and placed suicides again.

Bottom line, in my opinion, the increased damage compensates recoil (or only using SP3) and the other annoyances. Fights end faster which means less opportunites to make mistakes. The best scenario would be, as you point out, to use just double immune champions. However if you had 5* Omega Red, Iceman, Sentinel, etc I would advice it. But you are talking about 4/40 4* and one 3* to tackle Act 5. It won't be easy even with suicides...
