AW Offseason and the AW Burnout Issue

Please reconsider your decision to start AW Season 7 in one week. I don't think I'm only speaking for my alliance when I say that people were so relieved when this season ended. The high price and stress of AW is driving many people crazy, and without a decent off season to work on other content, save some items, and just take a break, these problems will only be exacerbated .

AW fatigue is a massive issue you seem to be ignoring. I implore you to do something to change this season. Running the same season as Season 6 would be incredibly tone deaf.

If changing the off season time is impossible: try sending out a package of potions and boosts to everyone. This would help alleviate the cost of the early part of war. It may cost Kabam in the short term, but keeping people invested in AW is crucial for the game's continued success.

Significantly cheaper to just buy the biweekly t5b offers than it costs to buy rainbow boosts for the season.

100% agreed, I don’t know what “schedule” they’re referring to for optimizations on alliance war matchmaking but there’s no good reason it can’t wait another week. If anything they should give us more break time if they’re making a significant change to AW. Burnout is a real thing and a 2 week break is much needed. Complete BS

Im seriously debating moving to gold 1 been in platinum 3 since seasons started and frankly the rewards are not worth the effort anymore. Couldnt wait for this season to end to get a break and now its only a week?! After we only had a week break between 5 and 6 I implore you to reconsider Kabam for their sanity of the player base

Agreed, @Losspik I’m in the exact same position and 1 week is not even close to being a long enough break.

Nah but on a serious note, youre 100% right. Two weeks would be better than 1, heck even longer. But alliance turnover is at an unprecedented rate and i hate to say it but AW seasons are killing the fun.

Best part about high alliance turnover and 1 week offseason combined, it burns the officers out who have to find and question multiple new players for their alliance because not having a full alliance ready for season 7 will leave you in a position wherein your alliance will likely fall apart. Leading to officers getting burnt out aswell, leaving remaining officers with a bigger workload...

Oh as a top 10 player i'm DYING to play another season for 25k t2a and 1/3 of t5.

Oh wait, gifting event netted 2 full t5 and 6 t2a. now that's easy, it's like you won season 4-5 times in a row.

10 months to correct the game for players to like it, 2 months to destroy what you built and go back 100 steps.

This is way too short of a gap... seasons already makes the game far less fun than it should be... a game should be enjoyable not stressful...

The gap should be two weeks at least, if you're worried about tanking then just freeze the war ratings until next season...

You're ignoring the community and you can see its causing dissatisfaction... 1 week is not enough for alliances to prepare nor enough of a break to allow people to chill out or complete other content!

a one week down period when all this season pretty much everyone has been playing with connection issues for an entire season begging for the season to end as everyone was just eating through resources because of lag, games freezing mid combo, disconnected mid fights to come back to a defender at full health and you’ve lost 50% health and a bonus. to then reach the end of a good season for the allaince but too costly to then be told we are getting a week before season 7 and no issues have been resolved and low and behold .... 3 hours after one arena and the servers are down.... change the period and try and address the issues and make things actually fair for the player not having to wait at a frozen game for the AI to basically make me throw level 4 potions at our champs and have them go to waste when we get disconnected. rant over

Are Kabam trying to make ppl quit the game, my alliance has lost 4 at end of season due to burnout. Now a 1 week break to refresh & go again? Not to mention recruit & have a chance to see reliability of recruits? Please review Kabam, for our sake & probably for your own too.

You do realize the seasons were 2 months long with the 2 week cooldown period originally, right?

I understand wanting the break, and understand the burnout (pretty sure everyone secretly is done with aw) what I am wondering is what could be done to allow for loyalty collecting that doesn’t force seasons down everyone’s throat.

I die plenty and haven't claimed otherwise. What I do do is manage my resources and time theb play at a level that doesn’t lead to the experiences a small percentage of players choose to play under then come to the forums and complain I’m playing the game to hard and Kabam needs to adjust the game to suit me at the expense of everything/everyone else.

I wouldn’t have to contradict (“be negative”) with parody and sarcasm if people’s complaints weren’t laced with so much hyperbole.

I've never really understood the "burnout and stress" posts. No one makes anyone play AW. My alliance has taken a laid back approach to AW for awhile now. Rarely using any items and we consistently land in Gold 1/2. Worry free and stress free. A player should seriously consider their playing level if AW is stressful and always costing items/glory/units.

The very nature of "Seasons" entails an "off-season", without its just rotating content.

Regardless, the current setup of AW with 1 week between isn't sustainable for many. We have a couple guys stepping out for personal matters (moving, life events, etc) and some old members returning, but very little time for changes to settle. Recruiting is a painful process and extremely time consuming for officers/leaders, not worth the hassle on top of other responsibilities.

Previously I voiced many concerns around War Seasons, balance and burnout.. which were "noted" but likely forgotten.

Highly competitive war seasons have destroyed many good aspects that alliances were built around. Full 30/30 participation, day on/day off, means if someone needs to take a few days off their only option IS to leave. Combine that with the "system gaming", matchmaking issues, resource use, and increasing amounts of time limited content to see there is just too much to balance in-game.

I highly doubt there are that many new players starting that Kabam would be okay churning long-time players, but that's what I've seen happening the past few months.

It's just brutal on officers with the turnover that has now occurred with AW seasons. With only one week, and AQ still going on, we have like 4 days to replace guys and hope they work out and don't screw up your whole month long season.

Should be obvious by now that kabam doesn’t see seasons as literal seasons anymore. Their goal is to just make it like AQ.

Aw rewards are mediocre at best so why not take a season off if that's what the alliance needs. All these complaints about needing a break but nobody is forcing alliances to push for high rewards every season. If you are spending to stay in upper tiers you are probably playing above your skill and ability

Our words are likely to fall upon deaf ears. They waited til matchmaking was active to allow us this information. This SHOULD have been announced during the last week of Season 6, not today. We were told during the 1 week break between 5 and 6 they weren't ready to do the new Global Buffs and wanted to kick it off. Forgiven. But they also said we'd have 2 weeks to check out the new ones. New ones aren't ready again. That doesn't mean we need to jump right back into it after 1 week break AGAIN. Prove us wrong Kabam. Prove you're listening, and give us that 2nd week. We're not asking for blood here. We're asking for time. We had to push through the Holidays AFTER only having a week off. Now you're starting the year with what's essentially a lie. Don't tell us one thing and do something completely different after everyone made it CLEAR 1 week off was too little last time. The new Global Nodes aren't ready. That's FINE. That has 0 to do with giving us the extra week, as we had 2 weeks off before the Global Nodes even existed. If ANYTHING this would be beneficial for both the company and the playerbase. Would give the Kabam crew an extra week to figure things out for Season 8. Please, listen to us. The stress is real. It needent be increased.

Everyone is not in agreement that the shorter break is essential. There are players saying they are indifferent to the shorter break and some even saying they prefer the shorter break. You aren't saying you want them to listen to the players, you are demanding that they listen to specific players, and ignore the others. Personally, I'd be happier with a longer break, but that doesn't mean the players that don't suddenly became invisible to me.

Weird that we should be penalized because you guys are inept at your job. Make sure things are right before starting the new season. This is why most players in the know hate your guts.
