Can specials be intercepted?

Just wandering if specials can be evaded, been playing for a while and never seen it until a few minutes ago when King Groot intercepted my 2nd special

You can interrupt specials in the early days. Not special 3 as that will remain exclusive

You can not interrupt the animations of any special. you can get punished after a special if you launch it into a blocking enemy. Never seen anything different.

Specials, once started can't be stopped until they run their duration. You used to be able to parry specials, but its obvious why that is gone. You can intercept with specials against a dashing opponent however. You can avoid specials with shallow evade (Difficult ) or with dexterity mastery (Bit easier) but not all specials can be evaded 100% without the use of certain champs like sparky or really good evading skills.

Evade or intercept, those are different concepts

You can't intercept the opponent while he's doing his special. But, as evidenced by killmonger true strike mechanic, you can hit the opponent at the end of the special after he's finished all the striking hits, but before the special is considered done.
