You vets, what's July 4th gonna bring?

GraydroxGraydrox Member Posts: 413 ★★★
Just curious, im a bit new to the game compared to most, and I keep hearing about July 4th deals. What do you vets think we should expect for the deals? I've been saving and I'm hoping it's something good.

This was last year's deal. What is being offer for this July is a guess.

To avoid your own disappointment, how much are you saving? it works in Tiers, so 1k Units will probably a small amount of T5Basic or T2A, then the next offer is 4k where it's probably about a T2A or something of that value and then next offer is 10k units, where it was an Awakening gem and most likely half a T5Basic or something
Cumulatively that's 15,000 units so there is a big debate on how important that is to your current progression and whether it's worth clearing almost all content in the game for that price (revives, boosts)
There are also unit bundles - e.g. the US$100 Odin and get 24k T2Alpha

These are all just estimations and are based of last year's, as I imagine with the progression of the game since the items will be vastly different. This is a rough guide on what 4th of July is and how it works.

My guess is the big ticket item will be a class 6* AG for about 15k units.

Still hard to get a decent 5* AG and sig stone offer from them. Wouldn’t count on a 6* AG

6* AG is a long shot, since none of the story quests are rewarding it (yet). But i’m hoping a 5 star class rank up gem 3-4 and 4-5 will be tiered such that players would spend the units bought from store. I didnt buy the 12k unit offer when i became cavelier, and i wish I had but had no means. Now if they offer it again, i hope kbm surprises us with lots more items and bonus included.

lol you wish. Considering how possessive they are on 6 stars (still), 6 star awakening Gem and/or sig stones will be year 2030 !

I don't wish. I would never do that offer. We'll see. They've been releasing 6* sig stones in offers and have devalued 5* AGs to about a 2k unit value. They've got to get people excited for the fourth, so that's my guess along with 6* shards and other rank up materials.

My recollection is they had a 5* AG and sig stone offer for $70 US at the beginning of the year which is pretty low comparatively speaking.

I believe two July 4s ago there was a 5* awakening gem as a bonus in the Odin, and last year the 5* AG was in the 10k unit offer (which you technically had to spend 15k units to actually get). I wouldn't be surprised if a 6* AG shows up in either/or, but I don't think that's a sure thing either. I'd say 50/50 we see the first 6* AG in either a unit bundle or as a bonus in an Odin.

I think it is more than likely we see at least one of the following somewhere: 6* AG, 6* "Marvelous"-like crystal, or T5CC fragment crystals. And to be honest with 6* sig stones still incredibly rare and impossible to farm, given a choice I'd probably prefer a 6* crystal over a 6* AG.

Like others I still think it is early for a 6* AG. I don't care because I don't have a decent 6* personally. I suspect we'll see R4-5 5* gem. I just hope it is generic and not an RNG one. I'll pass on that. i've opened 3 of those and got 3 skill. Couldn't handle a 4th.

I would be pretty shocked with a 6* AG. I'm guessing a 4-5 gem (maybe generic) in the 10k bundle with some 6* shards and t5b frags.

My interest isn’t in “low comparatively speaking”. In a game where Kabam stated they are making 5* a lot easier to acquire and shards are much more plentiful, $70 is still way too expensive. At this point in the game where 6* are becoming the focus and there’s so many 5* out there, a 5* AG shouldn’t be more than $30. If you want to throw like 100 sig stones in there and make it $50 I guess that wouldn’t be bad either. But in my opinion $70 is still way too much with how easy 5* are supposed to be acquired.

Personally, I think that's way too low at the moment. For reasons I've discussed lots of times prior, I don't think prices get better (for the game) as they get indefinitely lower. Below a certain point, and I personally think a $30 AG crosses that line, the prices cease to become increasingly attractive as an offer and become punitive on gameplay on a comparative basis.

At the moment 5* champions are supposed to be easier to acquire and rank up, and they currently are. But they aren't supposed to be trivial to acquire and rank up, because that would put too large a gap between 5* and 6*. And the only way to close that gap would be for 6* champs to become too easy to acquire and rank up, and that would accelerate us to 7* champions far too quickly. $30 for an AG is much closer to "trivial" than "easier" in my opinion.

I know you added rank up in there as well, but 5* are basically trivial to acquire. Just look at cavalier crystals.

I guess it depends on your definition of "trivial." I would consider it to be trivial to acquire 5* champions if it took an amount of effort that was negligible compared to the effort players put into doing anything in the game. And at the moment, it isn't: it is still a significant amount of effort in general. At least it is for me.

On July 1st (00:00 UTC), the first ever Multi-Month Login Calendar is coming to The Contest! This special Calendar contains rewards like Tier 4 Basic and Class Catalysts, Tier 2 Alpha Catalysts, 11,000 5-Star Crystal Shards, and a 5-Star Awakening Gem Crystal!

I would have to say, that certainly counts as "trivial" effort. That might suggest the July 4 deals could be better, since they have to compete with the calendar. On the other hand, Kabam doesn't always work that way either.

The 5 star AG comes on the 91st -98th day of that Summoner appreciation period. You would have to wait 3 months to get to that point.
