How practical is The Thing with synergies?

I’m Cavalier and I’m working on exploring Variant 1 (the only one remaining for me) and then finishing exploring Act 6.1.

I have a 5 Star Awakened Thing at Rank 3. I could take him to Rank 5 right now but I’ve been saving my resources for CapIW. I’m amazed at the Aegon-type damage that Thing can do with the Heimdal/Champion/Angela/Hela synergy and I know he’d be great for the Chapter 3.3 Final Ultron boss but... is his synergy really that practical for endgame content? I hate to waste all my roster spots just for Variant 1 (I don’t have a 5 Star Champion) so I can’t bring Thing to Act 6 even if I wanted to.

So, for those of you who have a 5/65 Thing - is he worth it?

Without synergy reach 60 furies with the help of parries and mayb human torch synergy can help
With synergy go with thing champion heimdal thor and korg for massive damage at 15 percent health

Yeah, it doesnt even give a 50% damage reduction for other classes like v3 it doesnt even let you bring other classes. On top of that the nodes have very poor design, the global nodes make it even worse. Two people in my ally explored it but they spent a buttload of units

For me, I only use him to cheese the content. If i need a hard hitter, I'll bring someone else.

I'm also thinking about if I should rank 5 my 4* Thing to help get Uncollected. I have his full synergy team.

If you've got good mystic/tech champs and a thing it isn't costly at all
Thing does the entire final chapter easily

The hardest chapter was 2 but they're enough new techs and mystics that it isn't as exclusive as it once was. Ghost, Doom, Guillotine 2099, Claire voyant, magik, Starky are all pretty useful here

outside of his synergy he's still a great champ with unique immunities and good damage after building up his passive furies definitely worth the r5

For variant 1 chapter 3? You literally just need a Thing ranked up decently (mine was 5* 5/65) and then; The Champion, Hela, Angela, Heimdall, added to the team in that order. Cleared every path of V1 Chapter 3 over the course of 4-5 days last week using only that team.

Thing is a destructive force I have never regretted maxing him out.
I ranked thing up before I even knew about the synergy madness he has but it's a pretty amazing new found tool for his already impressive arsenal 👍

If you play better than me, sure.
He does have uses elsewhere, I used him in 6.1.6 for the buffed up sym supreme and he will have uses in any other areas where nullify immunity is very handy.

If you have the team for it it's absolutely worth exploring. I just have a few paths left in chapter 2. Thing destroyed chapter 3 for me with just a few revives needed.

Thanks for all the comments guys - I think I’ll take him up to Rank 5. He’s one of the few shock immune champions and his synergies are amazing. I just did a test run in Variant 1 3.3 and I almost cleared the whole path with my Rank 3 5 Star! He’s proven himself to me.

He is very good without a synergy but if you toss in Hulk he gets crit. I carry a 5 star Thing and a 4 star hulk along with either my 5 star Hawkeye or 5 star King groot. Don't hesitate (where you can) to use a lower tier partner to power him up! He is devastating!

OR pair him with a couple of older champs who synergize each other but provide crit, block, whatever, to the entire squad as opposed to some of the new champs with champ specific synergies applying only to those that have a synergy with them.
You put two other champs with him that increase his powers as well! Synergized with him or not.
Example: if i carry storm and bp with him he gets power gain, Thor and Juggernaut give him crit...etc.

Just in case anyone in the future sees this thread in the same situation I was in - I can tell you Thing has already proven his worth as my 7th Rank 5.

He’s my only shock immune champion (still very rare in July 2020), he’s a tank even without synergies, and with synergies I was able to take down the final boss in Variant 1.3.3 in just two revives (had I played better, I could have one-shorted him). Thing is also one of the most fun champions to play - he’s worth it in my opinion.
