2015-2017 Generic R3-R4 Gem from V5 Issue

Is anyone else having an issue using their rank 3-4 gem from variant 5?

So I completed ch1 from v5 and got a 2015-2017 Generic R3-R4 Gem. I am currently trying to use this gem on magik however when I go to rank her up I only get my mystic r3-r4 gem that can be used on any mystic cham. Obviously I'm not trying to use my mystic gem but dont get any other options...
