GwenPool and War Power Gain node

I fought against a Hyperion on a power gain node in war. I connected with an SP2, but he still gained power.

Is that supposed to happen? I thought the enervate prevented power gain for a certain amount of time (in my case 7 seconds).

    It only prevents them from gaining power "when struck." So Hyperion or Mordo will still passively gain power. They will also gain power if they hit you. And it won't prevent power gain from mystic dispersion.

    It prevents power gain from hits. He will still gain from his ability.
