Problem Accessing Rank Up Gem from Variant 5.

I explored a chapter of Variant 5 and received a generic Rank Up Gem (3-4).

This gem can only be used on champions released before the end of 2017.

However, I have a Mutant Rank Up Gem (3-4) as well.

When I select a champion like Iceman, I don’t have the option of using my generic year specific gem. As shown I the photographs below, my only option is the non-year specific mutant gem. Can this please be changed so I can select which gem I’d prefer to use?

    How about they just fix these ongoing issues with the rank up gems? It’s been like this for years.

    I would’ve liked to rank up my sentinel last night since there was a level up event.... but I have to contact support to use an in game item?

    And if I contact support about a problem with a 5* generic 2-3 gem and picture of my sentinel.....



    ....I don’t think replying back to me about Nebula and a 2017 rank 3-4 tech gem I don’t have, is going to make me feel confident in this process
