That would make him a mutate, not a mutant.
Mutants get their powers from birth, like Logan or Iceman.
Mutates are for example, Hulk and Spiderman. Gotten from outside sources.

Kabam are clueless with things like this. Like asking why does Misty Knight’s Vibranium arm give her the #metal tag, but no other champ with any Vibranium get the tag? Why is a man made of ice not immune to coldsnap?

Misty's arm is a combined alloy of Antarctic Vibranium and Diamond.

Well, perhaps in the bloodletting way of causing blood to be spilt?
IMIW managed to do it to Thanos, I think X-Bone could cause some bleeding if he got more screentime than he did
