Am I missing something here?

I think, hey I'll bring DDHK, he usually counters this annoying falter node (which he does), but why does he take damage during this? Or am I reading the damage preventions from his sig ability as a different source than the Haunted node?

Yeah, its due to haunted.
Doesnt matter if a champ cAn counter miss.
The node states, if the falter is active, the damage is reflected back. That's what I read.

You can pretty much ignore it. Stay back to make her come to you and wait out the falter debuff if she dashes back. Doom worked very well for me.

Oh it's not that. I've done DDHK solos. It's just the damage Haunted causes, vs his Sig description. Is it another form of damage than Passive Degen / Direct Damage?

Doesn't it usually say 'Direct Damage' in whatever ability/node when discussing Direct Damage? You're probably more familiar with DDHK but have you encounter nodes where it doesn't mention Direct Damage and the sig ability still works?

He works in those scenarios just fine. Turns off alot of incoming "interactive" damage if timed right.
It's just this Haunted node doesn't mention what type of damage it's doing and it's slightly annoying.

Yea, it should get reflected. If you have a high sig Doom, you can kill him in a few slaps (+500% damage because of the nodes).

It’s like they cranked the dail up on the AI dashing back specifically for that fight lol

Hey Terra - I think it’s because you’re not hitting her when the falter expires and it deals the damage back to you.

Similarly against Mysterio’s damage reflect, you need to be striking the defender when the damage reflect would occur, I.e when the falter expires.

I can send a gif of omega vs mysterio for more clarity.

I know this. I'm actively attacking her during falter, and some time after. No damage ignore, only damage taken on my champions end.

If your attack lands when the falter expires, as in, the falter expires within the 0.2 second window, then you should take no damage.

If that’s not happening, then the damage source probably isn’t coded as direct damage/degen, even though it probs should be.

Better to get an official response as DDHK’s sig was broken (maybe it still is) and his synergy with Masacre is broken too

I think any changes like that is gonna take a long time, considering his reception.
Personally I'd love if they made him work properly
