AW season 39: December 28th or January 4th?

Hello.
According to the AW 39 post it will start December 28th, but some players are on holidays by that time as to celebrate New Year, so I wonder if it'd be best to postpone the season for the first days of January in order to have a better organization in alliances.

Would have been Dec 21st, they have actually moved it back a week to the 28th.
As to going out even 1 week further, New Years isn’t necessarily a full day with family (as well as religious for many like X-max is).
**although, yes, that 1 week they did extend it also helps avoid the timing situation with BattleGrounds ending just prior to the 21st, as far as receiving BG Ranks before switching alliances. So probably a combination of the 2 reasons.
Just wanted to pass along that we have official changed the start date of AW Season 39 to January 4th!
This will, hopefully, alleviate the pressure on alliance members and officers during the holiday season.
Happy Holidays!
Removal of the win/loss crystals, and the addition of a chunk of Loyalty equivalent to or greater than what would have been expected out of those crystals.
Unfortunately, the removal of the crystals didn't happen as planned, so for S39 you will get both the crystals and the increased Loyalty rewards. In S40 the crystals will be removed as planned.
As a side note, the reason we are removing crystals from content like AW and AQ is because their value is unclear to players, and because it is easier for us to update standard rewards than it is for us to constantly retune and update crystals.

Extra week delay is nice, but future REMOVING of the War Crystals was new info I think.
While the contents of those AW Crystals are indeed basically worthless, they were actually useful for people in lower/casual alliances to be able to track HOW MANY Wars they had done so far each Season. (without having to search thru all the individual history participation screens).
You could open what you have prior to beginning of Season, then let them build up during season so you can just check how many Win/Loss Crystals you have at any given point during the season, to be able to know how close you are (or have met) the 5 War Requirement.
**Perhaps instead, you could build in some additional Alliance Information (like War Season Participation), whether just for each person themselves, or across the entire alliance as being very useful for Officers.
Same for AQ series participation too. To quickly see who has been skipping them.
Happy Holidays
