Should I feel guilty? And BG tactics for the unskilled

Tl;dr I rage quit because I was getting stomped in BG, now I am doing the stomping and feel a little guilty. Also a discussion on lower level (sub-Plat) BG tactics.
I don’t usually play BG, but wanted to get a head start on the primordial dust objectives. Got stuck for a full week when I had to win just 5 Victory Track matches. I was only in Silver III and have a decent roster, but kept getting matched with huge accounts whose worse champion was nearly 20k. I got DESTROYED. Barely won a round let alone a match. I also lost some even matchups from bad play, and have some suspicions about cheating. But it got so bad I rage quit the entire game.
Came back last week and was in Silver II. Since then, I’ve almost cleared the last of the side objectives, and won literally 10 matches in a row (not-so-humble brag). I made some tactical changes that helped a lot, though many of these wins are because I’m now the bigger account doing the stomping. There is only so much you can do with an unascended 5 star defending against my 6r4 Nimrod. That’s an extreme example, but many people I play now have barely any 6r4, while I have a noticeable portion at that level. I’ve read many of the chains about how you can only go as high as your roster will take you in BG. Am I only winning now because the cream (which I decidedly am not) has risen, and I’m the biggest of those who remain in Gold? I think I’ll enjoy winning while it lasts, but the switch from getting squashed to now throwing my weight around is jarring, and I feel bad whenever I win primarily because my opponent was outmatched roster-wise.
The tactical changes I made were (a) turned off recoil masteries, and (b) starting banning HT and AA automatically (per a helpful Reddit discussion). Previously I was banning defenders I hated facing, but banning HT has let me use my mystic-heavy roster much more effectively, and I hated the AA cheese fests. Are there any other “hacks” or tips that you discovered that changed your BG experience?

Another tactic is to sacrifice a win in one round to set you up for the rest
I've caught many CGR users with the last one 🤭
I often ban Nimrod/Galan/other Attackers/Void/(Terrax)/more annoying Mythics. I don’t care about most of their Defenders, I take away the Attackers they‘re used to and they will panic.
always check all their 30 champs and don't forget what you have in your deck then decide what you gonna ban
that's what i do so thought it might help you as well
I think OP is talkin bout this ability, I'm not sure tho maybe wong has some other abilities to punish energy damage
If the enemy deck is stronger than mine, ban the ones I hate to fight
If the enemy deck us weaker than mine, ban their best picks (offense - defense and meta nodes)
And ban them to cripple them more
I’m one of those panicky players who never thinks to bad their attackers, just the defenders I find annoying. Makes sense to take out their good attackers, specifically torch and AA. Might try this approach now
