Don’t give the Marvel editors a pass.
He is meant to be one of the most overpowered heroes in Marvel. Many people compare him to Superman when in reality he is so much different Someone who is a superman type but sheltered and schizophrenic with a villain who messes with his mind can definitely tell unique stories and from what is said here, is what separates him from Superman and not because he's overpowered. It's only when a writer decided to jerk him off that he started manipulating molecules.

Yeah both are overpowered, in addition Sentry has Void, his dark alternate counterpart while Superman doesn't have that. Still doesn't make them even close though
Writers for both Marvel and DC end up doing this to most of their characters at one point. What starts as a pretty powerful character with complexity just turns into “how bs can we make this character” and from what I’ve seen, some writer at some point picks up the comics and decides to make a comic that turns some beloved hero into a living plot machine lol

They made him a matter manipulator later on for no reason, making him overpowered.

He is the Marvel equivalent of narrativium personified. He is literally as strong as he believes himself to be, and his existence is impossible to eliminate. His origin story is that Mr Fantastic and Dr Strange create a way to cause the entire world to forget his existence, including Reynolds himself, because that is the only way to protect the universe from the Void. Not even killing the Sentry can eliminate the Void, because it is literally impossible to kill the Sentry. This was not retconned into the Sentry, the fact that the Sentry is effectively omnipotent is baked into his origin story.Shocker: the Quora author does not know what he is talking about. It looks like he read everything except Sentry’s actual origin stories.
A good read would be Sentry vs Molecule man. He learnt that he can control molecules but he's not that experience at it. Also he comes back from being destroyed by Molecule man. Depending on the writers Sentry can do anything and everything, just like Batman can beat the Justice League all by himself with prep time (plot device).https://www.google.com/search?q=sentry+vs+molecule+man&rlz=1C1RXQR_enCA1056CA1056&oq=sentry+vs+molecule+man&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyCQgAEEUYORiABDIHCAEQABiABDINCAIQABiGAxiABBiKBTINCAMQABiGAxiABBiKBTINCAQQABiGAxiABBiKBTINCAUQABiGAxiABBiKBdIBCDYzODNqMGo3qAIIsAIB&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:58a699b8,vid:oyGytU5tzRE,st:0
