Current state of the game. Does MCOC have a future?
Let's just get straight into the issues with this game and why Kabam continue to fail the players every step of the way.
The elephant in the room, the AI. This is the single most dreadful and rage inducing part of the game, being forced to interact with an AI that reparries you, parries you when you dash in, intercepts your intercept with it's own intercept and now the AI is able to dex and light counter when you rush in. This is not a skill issue, this is a programming and development issue. The AI doesn't decide to do these strange things, it's not iRobot it can't think for itself, the AI's behaviour is programmed and given a set of instances/rules to follow based on variables such as user inputs or the nodes the AI is placed on, these are all programmed responses, if the AI behaves in a certain way it's because it was programmed to do so. I can with full confidence say this AI issue that has been going on for the last 3 years is not a bug or code incorrectly interacting with itself, if that were the case, the AI would be fixed as fast as the fixes come out for game "exploits", you know those things where Kabam incorrectly programmed a characters ability and they're taking down Abyss fights in 30 seconds, those are always fixed within days but if you the player use said champion while it's still in this "exploit" phase, you will be punished. Why? Oh it's because you're not using units, revives and potions to clear content... they're losing money when "exploits" happen. So they're fixed almost instantly and players are advised that they will be punished if they use this "exploit" while they're working on a fix.
The rewards system for every single game mode for Valiant bracket players is atrocious. Unless it's ACT9 or Everest content there is no access to R3 materials. Why is the highest difficulty for the monthly event quest still Paragon? Valiant has been a thing for a long time. A valiant difficulty should have been added a month after the title was released for players to obtain. We look at Battlegrounds as another example of how poorly rewards scale. The best of the best in Battlegrounds (definitely not me), should be getting R3 materials, they're literally the best players in the world. And why has the Battlegrounds store got no access to T4A? The game shifted to R3s being the top priority since Necropolis came out... that was last year November. Why are in-game rewards so slow to catch up with current state of the game but offers in store will have T4A? Why are spenders clearly being the advantage in every facet of the game?
My mental state because of AQ. AQ has been the most dead form of content for the last 5 years, it is so boring and the rewards are awful. The only reason people play it is for RAID tickets, AQ is literally the most useless game mode in all of MCOC. The paths are too long, there are too many fights and the fights are the same week in and week out. Kabam, you need to let go of AQ, please just bury it and let it rest in peace, AQ had it's time in the game, we don't need it anymore. The most logically approach is to allow alliances to run RAIDS every single week and remove the tokens to access RAIDS. RAIDS has 4 fights for the entire week, the rewards are decent and it's not time consuming or on a crunch 24hr timer. RAIDS should have been put into the game to replace AQ not add to it.
In conclusion I am just going to say something that every single player should know by now already. Kabam do not care about players quality of game experience. The things we moan about constantly shouldn't even happen, all the issues we bring up and how to fix it are all logical, it's not rocket science to think that when a new title tier opens that rewards around that title need to be upscaled to match the players progression, Kabam flawlessly integrate this logic when it comes to scaling the store purchases, they seperate the rewards between tiers when it comes to lining their pockets but when it comes to earnable rewards then Paragon and Valiant are pretty much identical.
We see it now with Ubisoft, EA, Baby Inc. they're all failing and losing players left right and center because of greed and not listening to players. MCOC is going down the exact same path, substituting a good moral compass where the goal is to make the player base happy with the product for shoving microtransactions down their throats whilst giving out a defective product. Let's see how much longer that lasts for Kabam.
