Any Valiants out there who can’t RE-PARRY to save their lives??!!

Hey guys,

Are there any Valiants out there who still haven’t learnt how to RE-PARRY? I can see folks casually reparrying the 2nd or 3rd hits but I can’t do it for some reason unless I dex and parry by mistake!!! I am alright at parrying most attacks but somehow cannot time the 2nd hit for the love of god!! Therefore, non contact defenders are a major source of pain for me unless I can tank/glance/regen their hits particularly when the attack values are high!! Defenders like Havok, Nova, Shuri give me a very hard time; however I can usually beat them! But them and others coupled with nodes like Mighty Charge give me PTSD!!!

Will I ever learn to reparry or are their some skills you can never learn in this game and still get by!!????

Never done re parry in entire life 😌
Yesterday, saw in Brian Grant live where he shows the hand movement, I might try later if stumble upon a fight which needs reparry

I do it accidentally pretty frequently, and mostly when I don’t want to, like when I’m trying to Dex to bait a special

i can do it reliably on 2nd hit if opponent uses medium attack but if opponent uses light attack it becomes considerately difficult

Another valiant here who can’t reparry. Messed with it for an hour or two trying to learn and just quit. Ended up just getting smacked in the face over and over.

If I can’t parry normally, I have always just treated the defender as stun immune.

I'm Valiant and I can reparry...kinda. I don't get it right 100% of the time, but often enough to be able to deal with situations where I need to do it.

However, I've often found that staying close to the defender so that they use light attacks instead of dashing towards you is a good solution in many cases. It sort of solves the problem automatically since most champions' light attacks aren't non-contact, making them perfectly parryable.

But as someone else said, ask me to do a light intercept and I get clapped about 85% of the time. I just can't do it for the life of me.

I got good at parries and reparries fighting against Rhino. I hated fighting him in early days until i got used to standing close and preventing his dash mediums with unstoppable. The quick reaction on parries made me good at reparries as well when i faced non contact mediums.

I am good at intercepts but cannot do light intercepts or even backdraft intercepts. Need to learn both and yes i am valiant too.

Is reparry not a skill everyone knows....? I do it constantly to mitigate block damage as best possible on tricky enemies.

Now light intercepts on the other hand, I'd eat my own hat before nailing that timing

Keep trying it, you'll eventually get rhythm and muscle memory.
Don't do tap and move finger off screen completely, just do quick tap, wait, tap.

Just keep practicing! Also make sure the defender has atleast 1 contact hit, champs like Shuri or negasonic you can’t reparry since all their hits are non contact.

It takes specific champs to parry non-contact, it can still be done.

anyone here read the ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series? it’s nerd humor, goes with video gaming and comics still, I CANNOT be the only one here… book 4 maybe? where the secret to learning to fly, is throwing yourself at the ground and missing?

to everyone saying “accidentally, and sometimes”, that’s honestly the best place to start. panic mashing block to save your life because you know you dropped the timing on that first block. if you put yourself in that situation ONLY, practice there, it becomes easier.

maybe practice fight your highest level Ebony Maw? ProfX? someone with a no contact first medium. use a champ a level or two below them to test it, so you actually get the panic mode. it may help.think it took me maybe 42 tries to get comfortable with it.

I can tend to reparry the third hit sometimes, but it is definitely not a skill I'm good at.

Never knew this. I could depart him about 90% on the second hit, but always wondered why I couldn't ever do it on his other attacks. Thanks.

I can do it, good at timing stuff like intercepting, reparrying, intercepting dashes with heavies and occasionally the breaking of the block if I'm in a good mood
