Why nerf special power boosts?

"Too op" this is just such bullcrap, why the goddam f do they have to Nerf everything, most bosses now have some form of damage reduction node or inbuilt protection in their kit, besides they're not usable in Everest content either, so the only place was either story or aw why do they have to do this

Bosses like Orochi who could be cheesed by a variety of champions with powerback boosts?

Champions like Prof X who get to sp3 and just win with sp3 spam?

I'm honestly surprised it took this long for a change to happen. Kabam has disliked powerback boosts for a really long time. My guess is Orochi was the final nail in the coffin for them.

Nah you did NOT just try to pin the poor design of that boss fight on people using power back boosts.

If kabam didn't want something like that to happen they could have prevented it in a HUNDRED DIFFERENT WAYS. It's their own damn fault for creating an opportunity where this (champ-boost) interaction could work.
And the community dealt with that poorly designed boss fair and square.

What a huge L. It feels less like a sandbox and more like a single path forward in every aspect of the game now. Block herc, no cheese, 7* or class gates, Same rewards each week/month, every 3 months a $700-$1000 event, use X champ or you can't do the content, etc. Champ and Boss designers absolutely crush it every step of the way but Netmarble gotta get there's.

Kabam has created a scenario where players need to use pbb in war
There are players who will deny it and talk about it overriding skill, but sometimes nukes are your only safe answers in war due to restrictive tactics and nodes.
If Kabam wants to take such decisions, they need to have a plan to change the nodes that rely on these boosts especially war.

I have never said it but this may actually be worthy of some level of comp or rank down. So many champs are really hurt by this interaction. Any champ with high/guaranteed crit rate, heavy prowess champs, reduced power cost champs. That is a lot of champs that were ranked up specifically for this interaction.

Change war first.
War wasn't trivial with pbb. Maybe at high P1 and Masters, but there are other levels in the game as well where people either aren't as skilled or don't have every possible champ and without using pbb, many matchups become really hard.

so if the problem is war, why wasn't the first step to ban them there and make war boosts with the 50% boost they want to implement and keep power back for other game modes?

or is beating orochi suddenly so game breaking that the whole system needs to be removed?

Elden Ring handled this amazingly, they had a system to give buffs and nerfs separately to PVP and PVE content. Why can''t Kabam do the same.

What was the internal discussion like? Yes, many players utilized power back boosts. I suspect this got major traction when Corvus and Ghost were first introduced. I also suspect there’s at least one reason many players (especially high end AW players) use power back boosts. Are those reason(s) being addressed? If so, how?
