I didn't want to necro that thread, but has anyone found anything that makes this any better?

I've tried reverting 30fps, and it doesn't make a difference.

I'm on a Galaxy S22, so it's a fairly current high end device, and after about 5 minutes of playing, it gets extremely toasty, and then the awful lag follows.

Is anyone from the game team tracking this as an issue, or has the game just gotten so processing intensive, that anything but the latest flagship models are going to have issues?

Thanks in advance.

Im on the same device on 60 FPS, The only time I get that problem is if I play while charging... S24 I can charge while playing fine.

My phone always gets a little hot, but it gets really bad while I'm playing while charging and at low battery.

The climate and whether you're using WiFi or mobile data can also contribute.

I switched both and found a drastic difference

    certain heroes/heroine makes it worse
    e.g. dust = instant lag

I have iPhone 15 Pro Max, and playing while charging is an absolute no-no. In addition to warming, controls sometimes reverse for no reason. Long fights (Everest content) without restarting the app or waiting between each one is also not encouraged—back of phone gets very warm and needs to take a break.

STILL (new update didn’t help at all)

Device getting very hot, very fast, in my case just the last few months.
iOS (older iPad), but never had this heat on mine before very recently.

And don't even have to be doing fights, just be in the game browsing around different screens. @KabamPinwheel

Yes, there have been “overheating” posts over the years going way back, but this is definitely affecting a lot of ppl recently.

Here are other posts since December and more recent.

And just another, from @Soumemiakas1926 on Poco x5 Pro (just with latest, or last, update)

Kabam, is there a change in the back-n-forth “pinging” / communicating with our devices from the Servers, checking for maintaining a connection ? Different from before ??
Or change in other background processing by the game on our device, that is causing the overheating more recently ??

As said above, doesn’t even have to be fighting.
But also, I even turned down my screen brightness to darkest possible, nope. (and don't have other communication/notification based “junk” apps running in background).

My iPhone 15 gets hot as well. Putting it on low power mode does reduce it but still gets warm.

Same here. iPhone 15Pro… it’s been months on months

2 cents on this, some cases are terrible for phone temp too. I remember using an otterbox case back in the day that served well as a space heater in the winter

1 obvious drawback for a mobile game that is cross platform with PC is that the game graphics now designed for desktop graphics card level

All high end smartphone can never handle that graphics load and will eventually heat up rapidly

From the thread title, I thought this would be promoting some indie band.

I can say I’m using my third different style of case. This one exposes 70% of my phone back and I’m playing in AC. It’s the code

I even took mine out of the case, have it sort of angled so not totally lying on anything.

In game for few minutes, heats up.
Close it and come here to Forums, or go to videos, or any other app, etc. (screen still on, processor still running, just not in game) and it cools back down

Guess I could keep one of those cooling packs you use for sore muscles in the fridge, and grab it to rest the iPad on when I go into game for periods of time.
Or bring my laptop chill-pad (fan pad) down to living room to use.

    The app is the problem

Specifically, the graphics in the background in fights and menu

Didn’t think that yes a basic level of scene background is on general screens (ie, Menu) too, not just fighting.

What would be a good place to test that (Roster or Crystals screens, anywhere else ? Events Tab ?), that does NOT have such a background going on ??
Maybe sit on one of those screens for some minutes, and see if it gets just as hot or not.

I’m at bit a loss on why there isn’t even acknowledgement of this issue though. Maybe I missed it?
